Rethinking ceramic display at Cersaie: a sustainable approach?

01/ We worked to reduce the environmental impact of this project from the very concept stage, designing a narrative space based on the following strategies.

02/ Use of modular pine wood structures FSC-certified, fully reusable. Rough fabric wraps the upper part of the walls.

03/ The wooden frame matches the height and the volume of neighbouring booths, while solid walls rise only up to 240cm-reducing power consumption, transport emissions and dismantling waste.

04/ A ziggurat composed of hundreds of Sansevieria plants-evergreen houseplants known for their air-purifying qualities and ability to remove toxins-is places at the center of the booth.

05/ A hydroponic garden supplies the show-cooking area. Together with sustainably produced displays and props, it supports a nudging approach that encourages visitors to engage with eco-conscious design solutions.

06/ A set of visual icons identifies the sustainability areas addressed by our client’s actions, establishing an empathetic connection with visitors. by @_paolocesaretti.it

At Cersaie, ceramic surfaces are not just simple products.

01/ Cersaie visitors are inspired by abstract and experimental uses of ceramic surfaces, and by their ability to bring together tradition and innovation.

02/ Entire spaces shaped using ceramics make one concept clear: ceramics build, protect, and at the same time gift spaces of their own distinctive identity.

03/ Ceramics do not exist in isolation; they perform at their best when combined with other materials, enabling a wide range of mix-and-match solutions.

04/ Large-format, ultra-thin porcelain stoneware slabs still offer largely unexplored potential, particularly in the field of furniture design.

05/ Thanks to the unique qualities of ceramic surfaces, they can be used in a wide variety of applications—new and yet to be discovered. by @_paolocesaretti.it

What makes an exhibition design stand out at Cersaie?

01/ Captivate
Create distinction through a recognisable architectural shape that establishes a visual dialogue with the visitor.

02/ Display
Make life spread over ceramic surfaces using light and space. Only in this way shapes, materials, and details fully reveal themselves and create value.

03/ Stage
Show the versatility of ceramic surfaces through settings that spark the viewer’s imagination, from architecture to styling.

04/ Suggest
Connect seemingly distant worlds, creating new narratives, evocative inspirations, and lasting impressions.

05/ Surprise
Communicate information by actively engaging the visitor, through intuitive paths and interactive experiences. by @_paolocesaretti.it

Cersaie 2025 — Kale’s pop-up showroom for porcelain slabs.

We design spaces that feel lived, not staged — because what stays with you is not just the product, but how it made you feel.

Spaces that resonate.
Products that last.
Brands you remember.

Material Expression [9/9]
The custom-designed pieces — from the reception desk to the kitchen and bathroom elements — are scenographic and suggestive. They don’t just show a function, they create a lasting impression of the experience.

Material Expression [6/9]

The path unfolds through a sequence of abstract, atmospheric spaces — scenographic and suggestive rather than figurative and realistic. They don’t just show a function, they impress, creating a lasting memory.

Material Expression [7/9]
Ceramic here is not mimetic. It does not pretend to be stone, marble, concrete, or wood. It is. It becomes mass, surface, skin, topology. It takes on thickness, temperature, silence.
