We return to Angel Music Bar.

Join us at Solace Bar on October 31st for a day-to-night celebration of the people, sounds and creative energies that have shaped the label over the past five years.

Born in Naarm/Melbourne, Club Elevate has always been about more than music. Through the label, podcast, events and collaborations, it has created a platform for local and international artists to share their work, stories and influences while building genuine connections across Melbourne’s diverse creative community.

The 5th Birthday brings that community together in one space, beginning with a curated community market featuring Hotplate, a collaboration between @solace.bar and @_pinsnneedles. The market will host record sellers, food, and stalls by local creatives, as well as an interactive vinyl masterclass with one of Naarm’s most trusted selectors. As day moves to night, the focus shifts towards the dancefloor, with music by @afrodisiac.au, @blinkybill.1, @char.rooney, @dj.earlgrey, @jd____________ly, @lums_world, @mordi_mcfly, @ricky_nord and @trreyclark. The space will also be transformed by immersive art and decor installations to create a distinctive visual identity for the celebration.

More than an anniversary party, the event is an opportunity for us to show gratitude to our people, the reason Club Elevate exists and the reason it continues to evolve.

Tickets on sale now via the link in our bio. See you there 💛

Certified party starters upstairs this public holiday eve…

DJ Sarah @djsarahofficial
Simon TK @simon_tk
Yowies @_yowies_

Words are powerful things. They’re but squiggles on a page or screen yet they have the ability to convey deep messages. Within the context of our artists above, the sight of their names conjures memories; times of hearing them play, the smoke-filled air, arms raised high, and legs punching down as hard as the sub.

These names are almost synonymous with the word ‘fun’. Thursday will be fun. You like fun. See you Thursday xx

Soundtracking your sips downstairs this Thursday night…

Myles Mac & DJ Possum @mylesmac__ @djpossum_
Ada @geeg976
Asha @ashapriestley

What differentiates a good bar experience from a not-so-good bar experience? Is it the conversations being had? The drink in hand? The music? The lighting? The frickin’ vibe?

Well, Thursday is set to be the perfect storm of all things ‘damn, upstairs was rockin’, but that bar? so sick’. We’re talking: signature Solace Bar tipples, a recently installed Translate Sound System, hand-selected tunes and space to get the hips rockin’.

Timing is everything in life.

The train door closes in your face, your life course alters. The alarm you set never went off, your life course alters. You run into your ex at a farmer’s market while you’re dusty and have a piece of spinach in your teeth from your breakfast roll and your hot water didn’t work that morning so you skipped on the shower and your hair’s a mess, your life course alters.

An opportune moment fits snugly into one’s life. And what more of an opportune moment may there be than hitting the town on the eve of a public holiday. The timing fits, the world spins smoothly and the weekend kicks off with a great start (footy pun intended–go saints).

Lineup (A-Z):
Ada
Asha
DJ Sarah
Myles Mac & DJ Possum
Simon TK

Venue: Solace Bar, 21-25 Croft Alley, Melbourne VIC 3000

To us, timing is everything; but to time, we are nothing. Come ready to dance x

Saturday’s Hotplate Market was another beautiful experience of music, creativity and community.

The Solace Bar space was transformed into a bustling hub of record flicking, art perusing, drink sipping and chin wagging. The dream!

Massive thanks to all those involved and to the wonderful humans who made the day so special.

Introducing our selectors gracing the top floor of Solace this Saturday.

Zjoso:
Growing up playing sport, we all knew that kid who was just way better than everyone else;
“Wow, did you see that?! He’s so goated”.
Whether it be an ability to jump a head taller, read the play better; they put in the time while also being gifted.

Zjoso is our local phenom. His accomplished @tribqu platform is a proponent of an underground that celebrates movement and sound; driven by feeling over genre. Zjoso’s mixing prowess has been recognised for its unrestricted range—twisting knobs from Panorama Bar to Oval Space, local to international festivals, and come Saturday, our beloved Solace Bar.

Bex:
We all have a favourite mug. For me, mine is special because of the soft colour of the ceramic, the earthly-reminiscent glaze, and the human imperfections it boasts.

For similar reasons, I am drawn to Bex as an artist. An organic and authentic storyteller. Within her creative pursuits, she transcends as an inspiring contributor to our scene. Her projects of @send.return_ , @spacecast.project and her label @spincycle___ , bring needed pensiveness and originality. Her mixing is much the same—careful selections of minimal left field house, tech house goers, and much, much more.

Pins ‘N Needles:
Since the dawn of humankind we’ve wrestled with life’s mysteries; did the chicken come first, or was it the egg? What is life, and what comes after? Mind-numbing stuff really. A new chapter has posed a new question.

Raph and lousechange are brothers. They share a plethora of things; a mother, a similar music taste, a similarly chopped hairline.
Come Saturday evening, the stage shall be set to determine an age-old conundrum; who is Pins, and who is Needles? by @_pinsnneedles

Careful, you might need both hands…

Hotplate 005 is approaching hot and steamy.

From 12pm on Saturday the 15th of August, the alley and the floors of Solace Bar will transform once again into a community market. Featuring dozens of crates of records, art, clothing, jewellery, food and drink, the day is shaping up to be a wholesome affair of digging and connecting. Soundtracking the afternoon is none other than @mikegurrieri who will bring his unmatched knowledge and unfettered jocularness.

The market closes at 5pm but the music won’t stop for anything. Lexi, Dr. Worm and Dasha will grace the bar and provide comforting and deep tunes for your evening sips. Upstairs will feature sounds of house and techno from local crew of Pins ’N Needles, Bex and Zjoso; expect weirdly comforting tracks that’ll tickle just right. Come real early and stay real late.

Lineup A-Z:
Bex @bex__e
Dasha @dasha.sprw
Dr. Worm @sum_dawg_2011
Lexi @lexirigby
Mike Gurrieri @mikegurrieri
Pins ‘N Needles @raphaelcommins @lousechange
Zjoso @zjoso

When I grow up, I want to be Kate Miller.

What I mean by this is:
I strive to be someone whose repository of music has immense depth and breadth—immersive ambient soundscapes to tekky brain melters. Having spent over a decade in Berlin, such a collection is the product of lived experience and creative dedication.

I hope to be someone who shapes their community through constructive and deliberate inputs just as @body_verse does. A place that shares highly curated mixes, releases and parties that come from a place of genuine consideration.

I can only wish to become someone who causes others to scrunch their face and morph their hands into finger guns in their presence; what a gift.

Kate Miller is the paragon of the phrase ‘all killa, no filla’. Come find out why for yourself tomorrow night x

Four walls and a roof; a house.

When looking at a home however, this level of scarcity and emptiness doesn’t get you too far. A home needs much more; social padding, support, embellishments that suit its dwellers. (Let me cook here)

As we look at the space of our local music scene, you’ll find Neil E in your favourite corners and nooks; where the wallpaper comes away from the wall, between the shoes left by the door, where your fingers trace lines in the dust.

Neil E is an important figure within our shared home; an intentional and talented producer, curator of bookings for your favourite parties and venues and head honcho of @reasons__st

Prepare to experience a sound of his that’s yet to be heard; a sound that’s deep, wistful—one that takes you right back home. by @_pinsnneedles
