Work on the basics and watch yourself reap the benefits.
I say work over perfect because there is always room for improvement. The forced reset on my body opened my eyes how I go through my movements, not chasing the “optimal”, but how my body adapt to every situation. I’ve learned my flaws and built a foundation. and then reinforced it. And then looked at it from different angle to make it better. It’s a process, but I can look back it at and honestly say “ well I think it’s good” only to get right back to it. Get your cute ass up!

Getting my cute ass up since 2015.

I didn’t expect anything out of this. I posted a few times out of pure foolishness, just trying to send good vibes and hold myself accountable. Somewhere along the way the energy was reciprocated. People caught the wave and I’ve been feasting off that energy ever since. I didn’t realize I needed a push to get out of my own head to get through the rough days, but lately I’ve been getting my flowers and feeling grateful and so now I’m here to return the favor by telling you to..

“Get your cute ass up.”

It doesn’t have to at the ahh crack of dawn. It doesn’t have to be the gym. You could be suspended upside down in midair by a hammock, run miles and miles until your shins fall off, cycling for hours, taking back to back dance classes, hooping at 24 or even just taking your fur baby for a walk. Whatever it is.. it starts with getting that cute ass up and start showing up for yourself, consistently and intentionally, every single day.

Fought one of my demons today.

Scared is an understatement. So wild that jumping is so foreign to me that it became one of my fears. Just to think that I got to pray that every landing sticks and hope that I can even get off the floor now. One hell of a mental game but I didn’t put in all this work for nothing. The first jump was the leap of faith and the second was the confirmation I needed to move forward.

The past 7 months has been one hell of a journey, actually living through my anime character development story. Looking back at the videos I watched myself go through every step and all I saw was progress. Weird to admit, but I’m proud of myself.

July is dedicated to the GYCAU fam. 🤙🏽
Over 200+ post full of motivation, dedication, and community. Everyday is a reminder to get that cute ass up and at LEAST try, whatever that may be. We never know what the person next to us is going through but we find ways to keep showing up for. We can get by on our own, but when you surround yourself with people that push and motivate you to go that extra mile, that’s a win and we take those.
