You should understand that I'm amused, unserious, and very loud in a way that my preference for what visually represents me on this horrible platform cannot display. by @_quyenngo

A photo, and another stream: I was at a training just a few days ago where I got to revisit the idea of the pillars that uphold a regime. I spent hours the night before sitting with an idea I've grappled with for years -- about how every movement is broken by feelings hurt, words said or unsaid, human things that appear irreparable while trying to fight for new worlds. I thought about the voice and posture that people put on when doing all these things in pursuit of making things better, the way we perform legitimacy, the way it can harden our speech and then slowly our brains. I thought about the person I may have become if I didn't surrender and let art be the base through which I see things and do things. I think it's useful for the movement to soften our edges, but the poli sci degrees don't give us that. Art isn't the only thing that does either, but it's certainly one of the things that can. My dreams are littered with symbols, and I know that what I'm feeding myself provides the soil for all these lessons in desire, violence, grief, and the things I'm trying to protect that I can't. Every day and night I'm swimming in the enormity of it all. by @_quyenngo

a photo, and a stream: When I was graduating college and people were getting swooped up by "consulting companies", I'd already decided I was gonna pack my shit up and head to LA soon. I had a few detours before that that had me lugging said shit around, cracking my soul open before landing in the place I wanted to plant myself so I could act, the thing I'd been doing all this time, with all the other stuff I do all the time. One of the things I contemplated around the early in-between time was getting an MFA in graphic design so I could understand design principles better because I obsess over things like film posters, font choices at the beginning of a film and during the credits, book covers... Not an obsession unique to me of course; amazing amazing artists all over the place obsess over the same, except they do it for their work, sprinkling our world with that impossible-to-describe pleasure of the perfect font, perfect lines, perfect images. We are so lucky for them. It's one of the things that kills me about the AI-fication of design in particular. Handing over that craft to machines and then assaulting our eyes over and over with what they spit out..... man, that shit is brutal. All the little visual things that come out of us are little bits of ourselves. They named it "branding" so they could sell. Then "tools" became accessible and we're more polluted than ever. by @_quyenngo

Narrating my audiobook in an LA studio. Part of the journey, part of the process. Enjoy the whole of it, the nerves, the fears, the gratitude, the determination. Day 1 down, 4 days to go. LFG! by @_quyenngo
