January was long. For many of us, it felt less like a fresh start and more like an extension of 2025. 🤦🏾‍♀️ 🥴 (hence that last photo). Some entered this year carrying grief. Others felt anxiety knocking early. Many found themselves unpacking unresolved emotions and unfinished places from last year.

This is your invitation to pause, reflect, and reset.

Welcome to a new month. Welcome to February—the shortest month of the year, yet one that can be deeply mind-shaping if we recommit to a better rhythm.

And speaking of welcome—if you’re new here, I want to officially welcome you to RUTHJINSPIRES.

My name is Ruth. First and foremost, I am a follower of Jesus. I’m also a daughter, friend, wife, and Haitian-American educator with over 13 years of work experience in the higher education context, a life coach, a lover of music and travel, and—yes—a proud foodie.

I hold a Master’s in Organizational Leadership and I’m currently wrapping up my MSW–Doctorate program in a short few months.

This RUTHJINSPIRES platform is a space that lives at the intersection of faith and mental health—renewing the mind, healing across generations, and cultivating a rhythm of rest through reflection, prayer, worship, surrender, and stillness.

Friends, I’m still learning. So, through lived experience, an ongoing healing journey, and my academic and professional work, I want to share insights along the way—offered humbly, in hopes they support you on yours.

My heart is to point us toward wholeness in Jesus—mind, body, and soul.

This week, I had the opportunity to teach at the International Women’s Conference 2026 in Bradenton, Florida, and what a joy it was to share, learn, and grow together.

We talked about soul care—the importance of caring for the whole person and the intersection of mental health and theology.

I was also grateful to share excerpts from my recently released devotional, Steady, and the support was immense. Thank you to everyone who purchased a copy, encouraged me, prayed with me, and received the message with an open heart.

Sometimes we’re so focused on getting out of the middle that we forget to look for God in it.

We pray for the breakthrough, the healing, the next season, the answered prayer… and all of those things matter. But don’t become so consumed with what God will do next that you miss where He is right now.

The middle isn’t wasted. It’s often where God shapes our faith, heals what we hide, and reminds us that His presence is greater than our circumstances.

The point has always been Jesus.

I’m still overwhelmed by the love and support from the book signing. It was such a beautiful night, and I’m so grateful for everyone who has encouraged this journey. Thank you for believing in the vision.

With the support of my incredible team and close friends, we were able to create a beautiful DIY setup that truly reflected the heart behind the evening. A special thank you to Odeline for partnering with us on the stunning stage backdrop—it brought the vision to life so beautifully. And thank you to our amazing brother and longtime friend, Kervins, for capturing every detail and every moment so beautifully through his lens.

There comes a point in the journey where faith is no longer about knowing the way-it's about trusting the One who does.
Sometimes the most honest prayer we can pray is, "Lord, remind me of who You are." When the waters are uncertain, fear is loud, and we can't see the destination, His Spirit gently reminds us that because He is with us, we don't have to be afraid. The One who called us is faithful, and He will lead us all the way through.
If you're in a season that feels like "the middle," I pray this encourages you. Steady was written for moments just like these.
