When last did you let yourself be held? 🌙

Imagine slipping into a soft silk sling, suspended above the ground, and letting it cradle your body as you close your eyes. Sound fills the space around you and a gentle voice guides your attention towards your breath, your body and the quiet of the moment.

This is floating yoga nidra: a guided practice of deep rest, experienced while lying in a fabric hammock. There are no poses to master during the meditation. You simply settle in and follow the guidance, with room for your thoughts to come and go.

Join Debbie for an evening of Floating Yoga Nidra and Sound. One hour to leave the unfinished things for later and enjoy the simple comfort of being supported.

✨ Thursday 26 November | 6.30pm to 7.30pm
📍 Pure Source Yoga Studio, Blouberg

The iris holds centuries of meaning within its unfolding petals. 💜

Its name comes from the Greek word for rainbow, shared with Iris, the goddess who carried messages between the gods and the human world. Through this connection, the flower evokes communication and the meeting of earth and sky.

In Japanese literature and art, irises carry a beautiful association with longing. In The Tales of Ise, a traveller encountering irises composes a poem for the wife he has left behind. The flowers become an image of remembrance, of the people we carry with us across distance.

In European Christian art, the iris appears alongside the Virgin Mary. Its sword shaped leaves evoke her sorrow, giving the flower a place in expressions of grief, devotion and enduring love.

Different traditions, each finding something deeply human in the same flower: the desire to connect, to remember and to give form to what we feel.

Perhaps this is why flowers matter so much to us. We offer them when someone is born, when love begins, when words fail and when we must say goodbye.

The iris invites a moment of reflection: who are you remembering, what remains unspoken and what might you be ready to put into words? 🌿 by @_serene.scene_

When did you last give yourself time to listen to what you need? 🌹

Between work, caring for others and keeping life moving, our own feelings can become something we promise to come back to. A quiet longing for connection. A wish to create. A part of ourselves we would like to know a little better.

Under the Rose is an invitation to give those feelings some space.

Across four Wednesday evenings this October, @talithakotze will gather women in Newlands for a journey into feminine wisdom, devotion and the rose as a spiritual companion.

Each evening centres on a different colour of the rose and its symbolic qualities, beginning gently and moving towards a final gathering with the red rose. Its association with Venus brings love, beauty and relationship into the conversation, including the relationship we have with ourselves.

Together, the circle will explore breath, tuning, anointing and quiet contemplation, with guidance in creating a personal rose altar. There will be time for reflection, shared presence and a little spring cleaning: noticing what continues to nourish you and what you may be ready to release.

These practices offer opportunities to slow down, listen more closely to your needs and explore your own voice and gifts. Gathering with other women brings companionship to that process, with space to be heard and to discover what another woman’s experience might stir in you.

You do not need to arrive with certainty or a particular spiritual understanding. Curiosity is welcome here.
