A Study of Love in Blue It’s not even close to Valentine’s Day, but that’s no reason to forget about the power of Love. And not just soundtracks from our favorite 80’s movies, but a daily ritual we all can use more of. #art #artwork #love #artist #sculpture taken in Brooklyn, New York by @_studio.acm

The Forbidden Fruit Series continues. Apples, Lemons, Pears…it’s Bananas My Bitten Apple of classic design shows a raw mold of my previous ones, made this time of Hydrostone rather than plaster. It’s a much stronger more durable material. My new addition on the right is the Draining Lemon. This statue is also made of Hydrostone with a silver painted, plaster base. A fun visual piece. . #art #statue #sculpture #lemon #apple taken in Oyster Bay, New York by @_studio.acm

Studio A.- Forbidden Fruit Series • Hydrostone, solid mold. I noticed recently that the Apple in my forbidden fruit series looks like a three-dimensional version of the #Apple technology company logo. Which got me curious why the original founders chose this to represent their company. The original 1976 logo for the company was created by the third co-founder Ronald Wayne. It was an illustration of Issac Newton sitting under an apple tree with the fruit hanging over his head. The idea was to represent innovation and the “aha!” moment of scientific discovery. Steve Jobs said it was too complicated to reproduce, so graphic designer Rob Janoff was hired to simplify the logo and came up with the 2D rainbow colored Apple with the “byte” taken out. The rainbow stripes were added to highlight the Apple II’s brand new color display. The bite was also included to keep people from thinking it was a cherry when scaled down to smaller sizes, however many people theorize that the bite had an underlying meaning in the story of Adam and Eve and the Garden of Eden. Others believe the myth pertained to the 1954 death of a computer scientist named Alan Turing, who died after biting an apple that was laced with cyanide. Steve Jobs himself was quoted many times saying “It isn’t true, but God we wish it were!” Maybe I add the rainbow stripes to this version and one day maybe one of these can find its way to the desk of someone in Cupertino? #computer #statue #art #artist taken in Oyster Bay, New York by @_studio.acm

Guide us home, APK! This piece was given to me by Andrew himself at his home studio in Brooklyn just before his move out West. His obsession with ducks and lighthouses always impressed me. Thanks bud! @apk_artworks @apk_industries_ taken in Brooklyn, New York by @_studio.acm
