I’m still feeling the sadness from the loss of @dr.elainer.ingham - what an incredible woman. For those of you who don’t know, Dr Elaine is one of the first to bring the crucial awareness of soil health, and it’s intrinsic links to human and planetary health, to the forefront of Agricultural Science. Dr Elaine played in significant role in popularising the understanding of soil microbes, who are actually the key factors in plant growth and nutrient density. That’s right, the fertiliser we put on the land is not responsible for true plant health and vigour, it’s simply a crutch to produce food in a broken eco-system. (No criticism to any growers who use this crutch- we didn’t know then what we know now). It’s actually the microscopic organisms that live in the soil that are responsible for the plant life around us, and so much more. If you eat food, Dr Elaine’s work has or will touch your life in some way.

We will continue the work of repairing our ecosystem from the soil up. We will bring food to the tables of the public that creates health, not curbs it. I, personally, will TRY to be more active on social media to explain the points i’ve made in this post more thoroughly.

Thank you for your life’s work Dr Elaine 💜💜🌿🌿🌿 by @_taryngrace

Gold Coast has definitely caught our attention! We aren’t city folk by any means, but there’s something about all that convenience, great gyms, hot yoga and sushi everywhere, waterways weaving through amazing architecture, and not to mention the glorious weather!! We had the best time with @just_lukejones and @zoe_whiting, who kindly put up with us in their space for a whole two weeks whilst we got bank accounts, tax numbers, phone numbers, medicare and a car sorted out. We are so grateful to you both for your hospitality and we can’t wait to be able to return the favour one day! 🤗🤗

Now we are 17 hours south, nestled in the mountains in our cosy mountain home for the winter with @el_o_there (@sgpurdie wish you were here, but keep slaying europe!!) and the sweetest pooch Ruby, who we feel needs to be Monty’s girlfriend. We are just waiting for the snow gods to bless us with some of that good good so we can all get up to @fallscreek for some much longed for sliding 🏂🗻🌞🌨️ by @_taryngrace

🇵🇸 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. I feel I have to say something:

“Forever let this place be a cry of despair and a warning to humanity, where the Nazis murdered about one and a half million men, women and children, mainly Jews from various countries of Europe.
Auschwitz-Birkenau 1940 – 1945”

This statement is written in 23 different languages on 23 plaques, set between the remnants of two massive gas chambers at Auschwitz-Birkenau, which were used as a part of the most disgusting and abhorrent systematic eradication of innocent people in the history of Europe, and some may argue in the history of the world. This statement rings in my ears when I watch what is happening in Palestine.

FOREVER let us remember the atrocities of the mass, indiscriminate murder of innocent people. FOREVER let us remember the damage that can be done by the grasp of political propaganda over a nation. FOREVER let us remember how wrong it is to devalue, and then attempt to eradicate, a community of human beings.

PALESTINIANS LIVES MATTER JUST AS MUCH AS ANY OTHER COMMUNITY ON THIS EARTH.

I know this is a very controversial post, and that in itself is a testament to the fucking insanity of the world we live in today.

I visited Auschwitz because I feel so strongly that we should never EVER forget what can happen when political power is mercilessly abused. This post does not take anything away from the deep, deep sadness and outrage I feel when I think about the persecution of the Jews by the Nazi regime, nor any other community by any other regime for that matter. We all know better and we all must do more to express our disdain for the actions of Israel against Palestine🇵🇸 We must be brave, we must SPEAK UP.

I understand not everyone feels this way, in which case this post is not aimed at you. I respect your right to hold a different opinion, but this does not mean I agree with it. taken in Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp by @_taryngrace

Alright, here you have it, me most of the time 😄 not necessarily the antlers and cat on my back, more the covered in mud and crawling around the garden part.

For the past few years i’ve been learning about soil, how to care for it and how it impacts planetary and health human health.
I’m going to be sharing more of what I do and what I learn on my new page @microtaz 👩‍🌾🔬🍄‍🟫

I’ll be sharing photos and videos from my microscope and aiming to provide easily digestible knowledge about soil microbes and how they work to benefit everything on this planet.

I’ll also be sharing some of my favourite photos from my time gardening, reminding us of why we are learning about the soil in the first place!

Healthy soils grow healthy plants, healthy plants grow healthy people, healthy people grow a healthy planet 🌍

I welcome questions, feedback and collaborations. It’s all learning, and right now we are just scraping the surface of understating when it comes to how our soils work 🌞

See you there 😘
