I guess you can call me a collectionist.
Not of objects or material things that fade with time, but of memories—the kind I can cherish, carry with me, and revisit.

Collecting places. Moments. Laughter. The people I love. Little pieces of a life that may seem ordinary to someone else but mean everything to me.

Because none of it is promised—not the places, not the people, not even who we are in this moment.

So I take the picture. I make the trip. I stay a little longer. I laugh a little louder. I soak it all in.
Never taking any of it for granted.

If I’m going to collect anything in this lifetime, let it be moments that remind me of how beautifully I lived it. taken in Royalton Reserve Paraíso de la Bonita by @_thebest__ever

Thirteen years ago, a two week old Jax came into our lives and changed our home forever. He grew up with our family. He watched the boys grow. He sat with us during long hard days and also celebrated every happy moment like it was his own. He loved fiercely and purely, the way only dogs can. Unknowingly,he taught us discipline, routine, structure. He saved our lives one time by alerting us of a carbon monoxide leak in our house… our boy was so smart. He was our family.

Yesterday, he went to rest. I imagine him lying in the sun, relaxing, wondering off..the way he often liked to do.

There is a space in our house that feels impossibly big right now, but there is also so much gratitude. Thirteen years of unconditional love was a blessing I will never take for granted.

Thank you for being the best dog ever, Jax. Thank you. I am sorry I couldn’t do more. I love you so much, Jaxy.

We will miss you every single day until we can hug you again, until our souls reunite 🤍🐾 11/2013- 2/26/26 by @_thebest__ever
