Story time. How I ended up at Blades barbershop as a teenager cutting hair. Only non Latin person in a Latin barbershop. Much love and respect for the many Latin cultures I came to understand and enjoy. We all went through a lot.

Big respect to all my clients. Who I still keep in contact with and those who I have lost contact with.
Mad heads from Forest Hills H.S.

Remember there are no rules in creating the spaces that allow you to become whatever you want, whenever you want. I wanted this to become my home office when I teach from home… also a space where I write, wonder, dream. Texture, patterns and pops of color allow for that to transpire organically. Thank god for thrift stores! Is it complete? Maybe not.. I’m sure I’ll be in the hunt for a soft chair for a reading nook or a tapestry for one of the walls in the future. It’s been a minute since I’ve done something just for me. Thanks to @_thebest__ever for always obliging.

20 years ago I didn’t marry my best friend.. then that was a tired cliche that was beneath us. I married someone whom I loved.. saw past my complexities and understood that there was more to me than a nasty side eye, a loud sewer mouth and unaddressed anger. You loved me unconditionally at my ugliest. Well turns out that’s exactly the role of a best friend. Go figure. I don’t want to thank you for being my summer because that sounds transactional, like you did something for me. Even though that may be the case.. I want to tell you that you Are summer and that you have treated me like autumn.. respecting and understanding the importance of transitions in my life; gently reminding me that change is welcomed especially when it brings better versions of ourselves. You are a constant companion, a beautiful leader and the most significant best friend I have ever had. Love you, poppa! Happy 20th Anniversary! The last swipe is the best one.

The last slide is the realest! This bathroom refresh was not in the plans this year. However, words have power and last year I said that this year we would be renovating our bathroom.. that was until I saw the prices being quoted and was disappointed. Regardless.. I still said it- and guess what??? it happened. On a budget..just us! So be careful what you speak into the universe! @_thebest__ever did what he did! 😝😀🥴#couldntbehappier
