Meet the owners/creators of The Black Bodega est. 2020.

What started as a small girl talk moment turned into a successful partnership! With similar passions and aspirations, our mission is to create experiences that support our community. We especially cater to black businesses by hosting pop-up shop events!

2 women with 1 goal; Building & uplifting our culture one pop-up at a time ✨

So much more is in store and we’re excited to have you a part!

Make sure that you RSVP to our next event ‘New Year Social Mixer’ and stay tuned for more events this year ‼️

Nice to meet you!!! by @_theblackbodega

Missing the garden a little bit more today 🍅

Our journey with our garden bed has come to a end but we were able to harvest so much this season. We vowed to love our garden bed more and we most definitely reap the benefits.

Until next year. Garden plot #20 by @_theblackbodega

It only literally takes 5sec to give ❤️

Dive in your pantry or your pockets to give to those in need. Because one #theblackbodega is going to do is support our community. 🤏🏾

Try to do the same!!!

Thank you for @duppandswat for being community focused always and @thenorthface Southpark for this amazing partnership.

🌿 We’re back in the garden and we need YOUR help! 🌿

We know, we know—this is our first post since last year. But we’re kicking things off with the most important one to us! We’ve got big dreams for the Bodega Garden, but we could use some extra hands to make it all happen. 🌱

We’re looking for at least TWO volunteers to help us tend to the garden this spring and summer.

Responsibilities:
🌾 Pull weeds
💦 Water the plot
🫛 Harvest when needed (and yes, you can take some of the harvest home!)
🪴 Help with repotting at the end of the growing season

Interested? DM us, or share this with a friend, student, or anyone eager to give back to the community. Your help means the world to us as we grow this dream together! 🌻

The Black Bodega has taken a little bit of a sabbatical this year ♥️ running any small business has been difficult. But we are here and we see you. 🫶🏽

We are proud of what we did accomplish this year. We successfully organized our first open mic night with zero experience around it & grew a garden, watched it grow and watched it die. A little how business ownership goes. But, you continue to grow and make adjustments in the process.

We have some events that we are planning & new partnerships, we can’t wait to share! As always stay tuned and we will forever be grateful or your continuous support. ♥️

With love,

From the garden 🪴
We started our garden just a few months ago and let’s just say we have growth. 🙌🏾 We can not wait to share more updates on our Black Bodega Garden adventure.
Thank you to @bethezen22 &
@curious.green.thumb for helping us grow and providing tips and tricks on how to maintain our plot. 🌱

To be continued…..

Pro Tip #3 to Pop Up Shops 🔥

You never know who is in the building. It could be someone supporting or scoping out your business. Give a simple HELLO and make a new partnership or business connection. You never know what it could lead to.

Pop up shop Pro tip #2: In the words of @babgalririi tell your friends to pull up. Everytime 👏🏾👏🏾

There is no support like the support of your friends. No matter how big or small the event. ✨

Plot #20 ✨

We have partnered with @bethezen22 and have purchased a plot!!! This was purchased for our community. The plot was designed for us! It is no coincidence that we were assigned plot 20.

Growing our business in 2020 this feels like a full circle moment. We can not wait to see how our garden grows. 🥬

Be on the lookout for more updates & potential opportunities to help us grow our plot.

Be sure to give @bethezen22 a follow. What she has created for the community is amazing and we are so excited to be apart of it.
