the go-to, practitioner founded & expert led guide to living well

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Everyone's talking about the £420 Dyson toothbrush. So we asked a biological dentist to actually look at the evidence.

Dr Seb Lomas explains what the camera and water-jet genuinely solve, the 69% plaque claim marketing won't explain properly, who it's actually worth the money for, and where he'd spend £420 instead.

October has a way of asking us to slow down, even as the inbox fills with “getting ready for cosy season”. There's launches and the pressure to get everything in order before Christmas, and not to mention the pressure to get the best advent calendar.

The Well Loved List is our antidote. A tightly curated edit of the products we’re reaching for. Each one practitioner-approved and held to the highest standards of efficacy, safety and integrity.

If it’s here, it’s been researched, tested and chosen well, with intention.

Kintsugi: the Japanese art of mending broken pottery with gold, so the crack becomes the most beautiful part of the piece.

It’s an idea that reaches well beyond ceramics. The job that took more than it gave. The break-up that flattened you. The stretch of being unwell you’d never choose to repeat. What if those were never the end of the story, but the part where it starts to get better?

As we do, we've honed into what the science says about growing through the hard bits, why heartbreak is far more than a metaphor, and why the mending is so often where the good stuff happens.

Restoration was never meant to be solitary.

SONARA, Britain’s first Fine Bathing & Dining Club, opens on King’s Road, London early in 2027. It brings London’s largest oak-lined banya, Steam Masters leading traditional whisk rituals, a Snow Room and a Red Salt Grotto. There’s also an 80-cover restaurant where your table is yours all day, and you eat in your robe between rounds.

A few years ago, our editor spent time in Finland learning what sauna culture really is. It was never a test of who can last longest. It was never a solo cold plunge at 6am, either. It was heat, cold, rest and repeat, with people you like, and almost always food at the end.

Comment BATH and we’ll send you the full article: why the bathhouse is coming back, what Finland gets right, and why this one has our attention. by @_thewelledit

It’s our founder Eleanor’s golden rule: get outside before the inbox gets into your head. Morning light sets your body clock, and green space calms your stress response like nothing else can.

So we’re taking it outside and adding a little weight to support bones, muscle and metabolism, whilst chit chatting with your friends over coffee, matcha or tea.

Join The Well Edit community for a weighted, caffeinated morning walk.

To enter:

1) Follow @_thewelledit and @omniluxled
2) Head to the link in our bio and add your email
3) Share this post with a friend who deserves a night in

Comment GLOW and we’ll DM you the link to enter.

Why does a virus make your whole body ache?

It's not your muscles. It's your immune system. Cytokines raise the alarm, prostaglandins turn up your temperature and sensitise your pain receptors, and suddenly lying down feels like the only option. That's the point.

Holistic health writer @laurenvaknine came down with a virus recently: with what she calls "the world's most intense body aches." Swipe through for what's actually happening beneath the surface, why a fever isn't the enemy, and the remedies she reaches for to support her body through it rather than push past it.

The ache is a message. Rest is the answer it's asking for. Comment RECOVER and we'll send you the full guide by @_thewelledit

Prime Big Deal Days starts today, and with it comes a lot of noise. So we filtered it. Two days of deals, run through a practitioner's lens. Only things we'd also buy at full price.

What made the cut, and why...

Not everything discounted deserves space in your basket, or your home. These do. Comment PRIME and we'll DM you the full list with links by @_thewelledit

Knowing the science doesn’t make you a better patient, as a practitioner founded platform, we know that if anything, it can make you a harder one.

We spend our careers on one side of the room, taking notes, asking questions and understanding what the numbers mean.

And then one day, we’re the one on the other side of the desk.

Being the patient changes how you practise. It changes how you listen and how much a single sentence from a clinician can stay with someone.

If you’ve subscribed to The Well Edit and thought I’d ghosted you… I’m didn’t intend to, I’m just wearing a lot of hats right now, and tech manager was never my forte 🫠

Turns out I can balance your blood sugar but not an email automation. Being a ‘founder’ is SO much fun when you trained in nutrition and biomedicine, not business. Juggling everything, fixing tech I don’t understand, and asking Claudette “what is a webhook” at late on a Friday evening with my organic candle keeping me calm!

Here’s what you’ve been missing (and what’s coming to your inbox from now on, I promise):

📩 The Sunday Edit: the latest articles and research, served with your Sunday coffee
📚 Well Read Wednesdays (NEW): exclusive content for subsZapier’sonly. Expect wellbeing news, new launches, places to visit, resources to read and listen to, job postings and special discounts for out WELL LOVED spaces and places.
💚First place invites to our curated community events across the UK

Already subscribed, you might need to re-do using the link in bio or comment SUBSCRIBE and I’ll DM you the link (and your junk, just in case Zapier’s still sulking).

It works now. Probably. 🙃 taken in London, United Kingdom by @_thewelledit
