Happy 1st Heavenly Birthday, Tyler!! 🤍🥂

Words will never be enough to explain how much we miss you down here. It amazes me how many lives you touched in the short time you were here. You had a way of making people feel loved, seen, and safe just by being yourself. You left behind so much more than memories—you left a light, a legacy, and a piece of your heart in so many people. You were genuinely one of a kind.

There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t talk about you, tell a story about you, or share your testimony. I hope you know how proud I am to carry your name and your story with me. Your life continues to point me back to Jesus, and I pray that the way I live my life honors the person you were and the love you gave so freely.

I’m not exactly sure what you’re doing up there, but knowing you, I hope today you’re giving Heaven a little bit of hell, laughing that big laugh of yours, playing a round of golf with Bubba, and hanging out with Jesus!

I wish more than anything that you could be here to celebrate your birthday with us. I wish I could give you a hug, tell you happy birthday, and watch you blow out your candles. But even though I can’t celebrate with you the way I wish I could, I will celebrate you for the rest of my life.

So today, we celebrate YOU. Your life. Your laugh. Your heart. Your goofy moments. Your love. Your faith. Your impact. Your legacy. And every little piece of you that you left behind for us to carry.

I hope Heaven is throwing one hell of a birthday party for you today. 🤍🥂 Until I see you again, sweet boy. Keep watching over us, keep making Heaven laugh, and know that you are loved more than words could ever explain. Happy 22nd birthday, Tyler. I love you endlessly. Today was one of those days that reminded me just how good our God is.

One of my sweet brides came to pick up today and brought me something oh so special to my heart. As if that wasn’t enough, the note she included in her card brought tears to my eyes. She wrote, “I’m so thankful we serve a God who hears us and cares so much about us.”

What a beautiful reminder.

I’ve seen God’s love show up in the most unexpected ways—through people, through quiet moments, through kindness, and through reminders that He has never left my side. I truly believe God places people in our lives to encourage us exactly when we need it most.

As I look back on nearly two years at CBW, I can’t help but see God’s hand in every season. The growth, the challenges, the celebrations, the heartbreak, and the women who have stood beside me through it all. These women have never stopped believing in me, pushing me to grow, and reminding me of who God has called me to be.

CBW has become so much more than a workplace to me. It has become my ministry.

I’m incredibly thankful for every bride who has trusted me with such a special season of her life and for every reminder, God is still moving, still providing, and still showing His love in the most personal ways.

Three weeks since my sweet Tyler went to be with Jesus, and some days it still doesn’t feel real. I still find myself talking to God and to Tyler all throughout the day, still carrying the questions, still wondering “why.”

But in the middle of all of it, the Lord keeps bringing me back to one word: Dunamis. 🤍

Dunamis means the power of God. His strength, His might, His miraculous power. It’s the reminder that there are some things we simply cannot carry in our own strength, no matter how badly we want to. It has to be Him and Him alone. His hand leading us. His Spirit sustaining us. His power carrying us through grief, confusion, heartbreak, and valleys we never imagined walking through.

One of the biggest things Tyler and I talked and prayed about before he passed was this word. We prayed for the power of God to fill his life, soften and transform his heart, and surround him completely. I prayed constantly that he would fully receive the Lord’s Spirit and walk in the strength that only God can give.

Now when I hear the word Dunamis, I hear more than just “power.” I hear surrender. I hear faith. I hear purpose. I hear the kind of strength that only comes from Jesus when your own strength runs out.

And in so many ways, I can almost hear Tyler reminding me to keep going — to keep my eyes fixed on Jesus, to stay close to the Lord, and to continue living a life fully devoted to Him. To not let grief harden my heart, but instead allow God to use every painful part of this story with grace. To keep loving deeply, walking faithfully, and trusting the Lord one day at a time.

As painful as this journey is, I know Tyler would want me clinging tightly to Jesus and continuing forward in faith. To live in a way that honors God, makes him proud, and by depending daily on the Lord’s strength when mine fails.

Day by day. Step by step. Hand in hand with Jesus.

The man who was simply too pure for this world. Anyone who knew you—and anyone who knows me—understands that completely. I will forever be grateful that I told you just how special you were.

You were an incredible friend, with the most genuine soul, raised by a family so full of love—and I feel honored to now be a part of it.

When nothing else in this world made sense, you did. Your presence brought clarity, peace, and purpose. You are my living proof of a loving God. You carried every fruit of the Spirit so effortlessly—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and gentleness.

No matter how deep the pain may feel, I find comfort in knowing where you are. Say “hey” to Bubba for me.

Everyone tells me how deeply you loved and adored me—and that will always be one of the greatest gifts you’ve given me. A piece of you will live in me forever. Forever my guardian angel.

No one has ever impacted my life the way you have. I will always be grateful for the pure, selfless, and beautiful way you loved me. January 23rd will forever be my favorite day—the day I "met" you again, the day I found my home.

Your final purpose here was to show me what true love really is… and for that, I will thank you for the rest of my life. You will always be the man of my dreams.

I meant every word, my love. Every single one. This isn’t goodbye—just “see you later.”
