8 months ago I had just over 1000 followers on this account. Now I’m reaching milestones every week that I never thought possible and my photos are getting seen by more people than I could ever comprehend.

Comment “40” if you want my help getting your photos seen by the right people

These are just some of the people that’ve engaged with my account recently and they’re all people that I’ve looked up to for years.

I still screenshot all of them and put them in a folder in my phone to remind myself that these are the notifications I dreamed of once.

This one is the most surreal. I’ve used Lightroom since the day I got my first camera and I got my first Sony when I left school and started working professionally.

To have my work recognised by brands I’ve spent my own money on for years and love so much is truly the strangest and most rewarding feeling.

If you told me a year ago that I’d be running workshops where people wanted to hear and learn about what I had to say, I’d have laughed in your face.

This was genuinely so much fun and I can’t wait to run another one soon!

A million people is genuinely insane. That’s 3x the population of the city that I’m from. I’ve done more than 50 million views in the last 8 months. That’s 10x the population of the country that I’m from.

Those numbers will never feel normal but will always mean the world.

This is the biggest one. Of course followers aren’t everything, but they do mean something.

They’re a representation that I’m going in the right direction and it’s working.

A representation that my work is connecting and that’s all I’ve ever wanted from my photos.

To express how I see the world and have people resonate with that feeling.

I appreciate you all being here.

The strangest part of all of this?

My photos haven’t changed.

I still post photos from last year, this year, even 5 years ago.

None of this happened because I got better at taking photos, but because I got better at telling the story behind the photos.

Sharing the feeling, the memories, the moments and the intricacies of each shot.

If you want to learn how to do this with your photos comment “SEEN” and I’ll send you all the details. by @_zacblake_

Photography means different things to different people. It’s what makes it art. What does it mean to you?

There’s a lot of new faces here so I figured it’s time to share a bit more of my story!

I’ve had a camera in my hands for over 8 years. Shot everything under the sun from sport, fitness, dance, product, lifestyle, landscape, street, the works.

I’ve worked for some of the biggest brands, athletes and personalities and now I’m a content creator.

I’ve gained over 100k followers in the last 12 months and now I’m showing other photographers how to do the same.

Lighthouses are honestly of my favourite things to take photos of. Maybe because they’re always in the most beautiful places, or the challenge of exposing them properly in a dark sky. Or because of what they represent. A guide in the dark.

Maybe it’s just because they make great subjects. Whatever it is, imma keep taking photos of them x
