This past week, while snow and ice made a lot of noise in our area, my siblings and I quietly remembered the life of my father who passed away 17 years ago…

We were blessed to have a man in our lives who left a legacy of compassion, kindness, empathy, and love that wasn’t just spoken but lived and breathed.

He was unparalleled in his mercy, the time he served others and how he made time for even our friends .

This is a letter not just to my father but to all the dads out there who are legacy and light bearers. On the days when you feel like you are failing….

Please remember….

… you are seen

…you are appreciated

…you are loved.

This Holy Week has been filled with beauty and joy as our amazing clergy and music and worship ministry took on the charge and challenge of creating experiences to take us from death to resurrection ✝️

The entire season of Lent was very special this year and I am so thankful…

A few weeks ago at the beginning of Lent, I was invited to dance in worship and shot this footage of .one of my rehearsals

The dance was to depict the woman at the well and rechoreographing and working with two amazing musicians created quite a few special moments.

I am always very nervous to share myself dancing… as I shared a couple of weeks ago to a wonderful group of young adults…

Dance to me is a way of unveiling my soul… it is the most vulnerable I ever am…

To be able to dance for God is a joy and honor…

I wish you all a Happy Easter and hope your day was peaceful, joyful, and blessed.

I thought it would feel harder to return.

Instead, I found comfort in the familiar. In the quiet preparation, the stretching, the repetitions. In the simple act of showing up and beginning again.

Perhaps there is a kind of grace in the things we know by heart.

Sometimes, the ordinary is where we find our way back. 🤍

Happy Saturday, Friends 🤍,

I honestly don’t know what to say 🥹. To wake up to find that the incomparable and amazing @geeoice_yoga had used one of my favorite poses for today’s #yogiseeyogido was humbling beyond words. The beautiful community that the #ysydcrew has fostered through the years has been so special.

Yoga is still very much a part of my life as I have stepped back into performance, and studio ownership while still working with the children. I often say that yoga is what keeps me balanced in all ways.

Some days feel like a dream come true. ✨

Bruton Parish was one of those days. A beautiful, historic church, the gift of movement, the music, the candlelight, and a moment to share something meaningful.

In every way, it was one of those special moments that will live on in my heart.

These are just a few beautiful memories from a truly magical day. One I will treasure for a very long time. 🤍

…a day filled with worship and joy…

This week, Karen Rios, founder of Sacred Ballet Body led the United Women of Faith at Reveille UMC in Sacred Movement. Women of all ages joined in a beautiful dance of praise and gratitude. What a wonderful way to stretch, get fit and honor God.

As this past week has unfolded, I am in awe, a little overwhelmed and very humbled by the work, and the opportunity to collaborate with this amazing musician.

When Tom Bailey approached me to dance as a part of this recital, he had no idea that his request was the answer to many prayers.

Over the past few months, music and notes about the music have “appeared “ in my mailbox, the deepest and richest conversations have been had that have challenged me to take the music apart and put it back together as a sacred work, and the respect that I already had for Tom has grown as we have worked together..

Choreographing the Bach wasn’t easy but the minute I stopped trying to force it, it came.

The music Tom is preparing is incredible and I am excited to be a small part of an amazing concert experience.

As we rehearsed in Bruton Parish this week late into the evening, I took a few minutes to be present in the “room”, filled with gratitude and thankfulness for the gift and blessing this has been.

Candlelight concert tomorrow @ 8:00 pm at Bruton Parish in Colonial Williamsburg. Free admission
