This week saw the first installment of my monthly show ‘Aspects’ on @hamshackradio 🙌🏽 ✨

“Inspired by her postgrad course ‘aspects of city design’ Athi Maq plays monthly selections of bass lulled tracks, soulful electronica, Afro Blues, UK & South African Jazz. while inviting guests to bring their own selections and discuss topics centered around intersectional urban environmentalism.

—

First guest Daanyaal a masters student in Urban Planning with a green thumb and love of DIY bonsai trees, they started their studies together and share an interest in the connection between green spaces and wellbeing. They discuss his insights into regional planning, green infrastructure and his dissertation on golf courses

They’ll be discussing how he got into urban planning, social + spatial justice and some decolonial thought that ties into cultural expression or lack thereof in the city.

Thank you to the dudes at @hamshackradio for inviting me in and providing this platform, building & spreading this music community with the purest intent 🌱 by @a.mjournal

New mix.. Under the monicker (AM) @athi.maq my original nickname I suppose.

Watching gentle laps of ocean waves always feels so soul cleansing to me... as would Light Showers on a rainy day (with an occasional peep of sunshine) 🌦

If you give it a listen, I hope you enjoy 🤍
