A really pretty, immersive, vibe-heavy, swirling and texture-driven set from White Flowers. Their blend of dream pop and indie/electronic music is quite simply, wonderful to hear on stage. It fills the room and transports you to a dream-like place beyond the haze. Just beautiful stuff all around. by @a_haque_

A very fun, vibey, groovy night of gothy, synthy darkwave. She Past Away do this sound and vibe really well, and they sounded great that night delivering banger after banger. The cool, chillier sound contrasted with the humidity inside the venue! by @a_haque_

[STROBE WARNING]

An insanely fun, high energy, hyper night of motion, and noise, and heat, and dance, and light, and love, and irreverence. Just about the most fun you can have at a gig right now. I think this one really speaks for itself. An incredibly good night during an increasingly rough time for yours truly... experiences like this make life just about worth living. Highly recommended. by @a_haque_

[strobe warning]

For someone who has now seen this band four times, I haven't really posted about it much at all. About time I rectify that, because Model/Actriz are amongst the best live bands operating today.

Not only is their sound - a blend of rock, punk, industrial and dance/electronic - a great fit for such a setting (bands that straddle this line tend to be tons of fun live for me), but man do they deliver. The instrumental portion of the band are as tight as a drum; fantastic playing, fantastic sound, ferocious and groovy. They know what the hell is up.

And the vocals - Cole is a generational live talent. Charisma for weeks, lots of range and power to his voice, tons of stage presence, and such open, frequent crowd participation make him one of the most entertaining and captivating vocalists you can witness on the stage (or on the floor) right now. Whenever he hops off the stage, he becomes the centre of gravity in the crowd - all the action and energy flows from him to the people around him. Even if you can't see him, you will know how close he is by how much the people around you are going crazy. It's unlike basically anything else you will experience in a live setting from any other artist. The room truly was electric.

As an aside, the sweatiness of this venue certainly added something to the experience in a way lol - really lends itself to the feeling of a sweaty gay nightclub full of people dancing into the AM.

Also four damn times... *one* day I will see them perform Sun In lmao. I want to hurt. by @a_haque_

One of the most intense, enigmatic and frenzied bands around right now, performing on a stage in the midst of the crowd.

I think this is a show that speaks for itself. It was absolutely crazy - everyone was in top form, and it's no surprise the crowd soon erupted into thrashing about.

Perfection, and with an atmosphere unlike any other band I've seen. Catch them live if you can. by @a_haque_

Parts of the rest of the songs the played on that amazing night. Shout out to my awful singing somehow sounding even worse here lol. Entombed is one of my all time favourite Deftones tracks; Xerces was a lovely surprise too, as was Lotion and Korea. Milk of the Madonna goes impossibly hard as ever, and the 7 Words moshpits were hella fun to be around; love that they end on such a rager of a song.

Also, you can see in the photos just how much dust there was in the air at times... that was a new, fairly unpleasant experience for these fests lol.

But yeah - my favourite time seeing Deftones, and attending one of the Victoria Park festival dates. What a special time it was <3 by @a_haque_

Being able to see Deftones 3 times in a bit over a year, after about a decade as a fan without seeing them once, really is just the dream. And between the very pleasant weather that evening, and the spot I managed to secure, along with the interesting setlist they had this time - this was my favourite of the 3 times I've now seen them (you can tell from my awful singing all over these lol.)

I really did blow my teen self's mind with all of this... he'd be over several moons if I could go back and tell him he'd get to experience this one day. So many memories came flooding back throughout this show. The good and bad. The big and small. Deftones just strike an emotional chord in ways that few other bands manage. The ragers, the sing-alongs, the screamers, the ballads - and it all hits hard.

Absolute bliss and pure heaven. I've loved this band and pretty much everything they've done for years, and to hear any of their songs live was a treat. But Rosemary and Tempest back to back? Infinite Source? Risk? Korea? Sextape? Around the Fur? Feiticeira? Xerces? Entombed?? Lotion? The classic 7 Words finisher? Most of their big hits too?? There was so much to love here.

Not all of those songs are here, you'll notice. More is coming, don't you worry. by @a_haque_

[oh don't you worry, you'll be seeing plenty of deftones soon]

What a wonderful day all around. Lovely venue, lovely crowds, lovely weather, amazing sound and so much good music - more than there was time for in the day! Annoyed that I rocked up too late to see Show Me the Body, but even so - it was all just so awesome. Such a variety of incredible musicians and performers; the Outbreak people curated a strong lineup here. This was my first time going to an outdoor fest like this and not mainly flying solo - lovely company too! I've been to APE, London Outbreak and also Lido a few times now, this was perhaps my favourite day out of all of those. Also have a rare and random selfie of me on the way there lol.

And of course, the esteemed headliner is another reason for that... by @a_haque_

A second set of clips from the show - here you see some of the more unexpected choices. I absolutely was not expecting Iron Moon as an opener, or Mer - her first time playing that live in around a decade. The song selection in general is one of the things that made this show so great - Whispers in the Echo Chamber, Carrion Flowers, After the Fall, Tunnel Lights, and Flatlands also spring to mind. Just an immaculate evening in every way, including the sick (and free!) posters they were giving out 🖤 by @a_haque_

I have seen Chelsea Wolfe live before - The Koko, back in 2024 - and it was magical... but something about this felt even more special.

Perhaps it was the setting - not nearly as grandiose, but far more intimate. Perhaps it was the little atmospheric touches like white fabric draped everywhere, cute candle-style lights placed about and given to us for when she performed her new song Cold (pictured and shown in this post.) It may have been the occasion - the release show for her new album, The Dark, which was played in full over the speakers before the show (hence no support act.) Maybe it was the setlist itself, which featured various interesting choices (more of which will be shown in a future post.) It might have been the venue's sound too - The Dome has very good sound IMO and it really did her songs justice, especially the new ones. Realistically, it's all of the above and more.

This was an incredible night. Just a beautiful, wonderful, emotional and atmospheric experience all around. It really was the whole package, when it comes to amazing shows. Highlighted here are several of my favourites from the night - The Liminal, Dusk, Feral Love, Cold, The Dark, Death Is Not the End, and 16 Psyche - that last one nearly breaking me, as ever.

Incredible. And with any luck, I'll be seeing her again in December this year at O2 Kentish Town, perhaps hearing more songs from her wonderful new album 🖤 by @a_haque_

What an amazing night this was. Not only was it great to see Justin up there doing his thing, especially after his recent health issues, but oh man was his set something to behold. Going on and on for 90 minutes, flowing between so many amazing sounds and textures - crushing, noisy, bassy, atmospheric, even danceable ones - and it all coming together into this seamless and deeply enveloping experience. I loved every second of this, and I feel blessed to have been there. Clearly I wasn't alone on that either, given how much cheering and applause came after he was finished! by @a_haque_

I feel blessed to have finally seen Nuovo Testamento live - and they more than lived up to my expectations. If I recall Chelsey came down with some illness during this tour, and I appreciate the band managing to deliver a strong performance that night regardless. Their sleek, danceable, catchy and vibey take on synthpop worked so very well in that intimate little venue. Just such a fun and lovely time overall, don't miss out! by @a_haque_
