Endometriosis is a diagnosis I don’t talk often about on here!
To be honest, it’s not been at the forefront of my problems for a long time. I had my laparoscopic excision surgery back in 2020 during covid- I couldn’t spend the night, went home, and had a terrible time recovering.
So when I started having the most severe and extreme cramping of my life back in September…. I knew something was off.
I even went into the ER due to thinking a cyst ruptured. And unfortunately I experienced sexual harassment by the CT tech in which I ended up reporting. That was a lot for me by itself and really affected me during the month of October.
Anyway, nothing showed up on my ultrasounds or CT scan and it was explained that I should see my GYN.
At this point I had also been on my period for over a week which turned into 2 full weeks of heavy blood loss.
I felt terrible, and could barely get out of bed all of October.
My surgeon took all this information and wanted to get me in the OR ASAP! Thanks to the Lords goodness I was able to have surgery November 12th (yesterday lol) He told us that we had done surgery just at the right time and it was totally necessary as my endo had spread onto my ovaries and behind my uterus. My doctor had me stay the night to monitor my BP and oxygen- I was oxygen all day due to it being pretty low. But I’m off of it now and feel good! He has taken a lot of care and precaution with me due to my history! I’m feeling much better already, and have been taken great care of by the staff here! Everyone is so kind and I’m so thankful that the Lord intricately wove all these things together to make surgery happen for me! He is always good to me, and he’s my greatest joy!

I also got to have some fun visits from a bestie and my brothers!!šŸ¤— it’s been a good day:-)

Okay bye!

Hi! I wanted to come on here today and share my artwork with you all!
Painting has been something I’ve done forever, it helps me release and relax when life is really hard. This past year I’ve painted a lot by listening to what God wants me to paint! So here are a few pieces I’ve loved recently:-)

1. Dry Bones Come to Life- I have felt as though my body is just that- dry bones with no life in them. However, the Lord can revive our dry bones and bring them back to life. The butterflies and flowers symbolize rebirth. (You’ll see lots of flower motifs, it’s one of the ways God speaks to me)

2. He Knows- This was small drawing I did on a night where I felt so alone and in need of comfort. I felt the Lord carefully holding my hand while whispering ā€œI knowā€. And the truth is he does know!

3. For Just a Little While- This painting is a reminder that all of this pain is for just a little while. I can rejoice in the fact that one day it will all be over!

4. Beauty For Ashes- This is another reminder of how I may feel burned to ash through these trials, but God can still create so much beauty from them. Who am I to keep him from doing so?

5. The Good Shepherd (Psalm 23)- This verse has ministered to my heart this last year. I am like a worried lamb who he gently guides to green pastures and still waters. I can rely on him to get me through the valley of the shadow of death and I don’t have to fear evil. He is the Good Shepherd.

6. Perseverance- This is a piece made from cutout pictures of my knee surgery scopes. I wanted to represent them in a way that showed the beauty of them and how perseverance can make difficult circumstances beautiful.

Thank you for letting me share my heart and my art on here!ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹

🌷Hello friends!🌷

Today marks surgery #28 for me! It’s always a little bit crazy to me when I say that…
It’s my 18th surgery on my leg alone- which is also crazy!

Since July I had been really struggling with intense knee/leg pain again just 2 months after my previous meniscus repair surgery and subsequent infection clean out surgeries. To say I was devastated and frustrated was an understatement.
I was very upset at how fragile my leg had become, and that these surgeries are just getting so much harder on my body.
I’ve also been working hard to figure out what’s going on with my immune system to see if there’s an underlying cause to all my infections!
I had honestly been looking forward to this surgery the last few weeks though, due to pain being so bad. However, I was so anxious about being wrong- what if there was no tear? What if it was all in my head? What if this is all for nothing?
These questions burned in the back of my mind this morning as I sat in the hospital bed waiting to be taken back.

I honestly was so happy and relieved when my doctor came to see me afterwards and told me I did in fact have a meniscus tear he had to fix. It meant that the pain I was feeling was real and I no longer felt crazy for wanting surgery so badly!

The mind is so complex with how we process pain and different signals- and it can be your own worst enemy sometimes!

I’m grateful for my surgeon who’s been by my side for all of my surgeries. I trust him with my life and am so thankful for him always listening to me and taking me seriously when I say something is wrong.

So surgery #28 is in the books now! Here’s to having a good recovery and listening to my bodyšŸ„‚āœØšŸŒ· by @a_spaceforgrace

Things NOT to say to a chronically ill personšŸ«¶šŸ½šŸ«‚ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹

*ignore the lawn mowing in the background lol!*

these are some phrases/advice I’ve personally gotten and I know others have that are just not as helpful as one may think! This is not meant to bash anyone, but just to gently remind us to use our words carefully!🩷
