Episode 2 of The Other Field will stay with you long after you watch it.

Azeez Al-Shaair grew up with a single mother of eight in the US. He thought he understood hardship. Then he sat with a mother raising seven orphans alone in a desert tent in Al Mafraq, Jordan, and she told him something that broke him open: that having four walls to use a bathroom wasn't just about dignity. It was the difference between safety and danger for the women inside that household.

Some things you can't unsee. Some conversations change the way you carry yourself.

And then somehow, in the middle of all of it, there are kids on a dirt field at sunset making heart shapes at the camera, shouting "I love you, Azeez!" at the top of their lungs.

NFL linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair has stats and accolades, but he says none of that matters compared to what those accolades let him do for someone else.

He flew straight to Jordan after training at 4:30 AM, no sleep, just weeks before reporting for the NFL season, to spend real time with kids from Gaza playing games, sharing meals, and handing out gifts through HDF's "Gifts of Joy" campaign.

Azeez Al-Shaair’s football career almost ended before it began.

His mom was raising 8 kids alone, and football wasn’t part of the plan. After @a_train2_ convinced her to sign him up, his grandfather sold the coach on his talent.

One practice later, Azeez went home in tears after getting handled by the toughest kid on the field. He was ready to quit.

Then his mom gave him the words that still guide him today:

“That which is for you shall not pass you by.”
