While I locked the guys in for their caving adventure, I saw my first ever Hummingbird hawk-moth (kolobrievlinder)!! What an amazing little creature!!
After this lovely encounter, I went the nearby town of Tilff and found some questionable drinking fountains 😁

After that, I drove to our camp site for the weekend in Sy, walked 6km along the river Ourthe towards Bomal and saw the thunder clouds rolling in. Made it just in time to our friends’ campsite to see the double rainbow and had a lovely dinner and get together. Great day!

Look what I found yesterday 😃😆🌿🍀🍀
So, people that know me, know that a garden is my place to be, and in this case, I got rid of a whole wall of plants!

So now we can see my friend’s cute small cabin again and enjoy a peaceful cuppa verbena tea. I think I made somebody happy today :)) And she made me happy: still enjoying the fruits of my gardening at home 🌸🌸🌺💗

While Marlon was swimming the Marken-Monnickendam race, I went to explore the small and cute fisherman’s village of Monnickendam. Its quaint nooks, canals and alleys surprised me in many ways! What an adorable place to wander around ☀️💙

And then a short, lovely walk back to the IJsselmeer to welcome my man who has to, according to modern devices ;) rest for 3 days now 😆

PS, many people go by bicycle, combine it with a bike ride to Marken and enjoy a terrasje at the water side: it is so close to Amsterdam ❌❌❌

Missing those endless warm outdoor summer nights already. From music performances to taking the ferry to open air cinema (is it gonna rain yes/no?) and enjoying a terrasje, my eclipse cycling trip to the seaside and admiring magnificent sunsets & chirping crickets from the balcony. Plus my little foreign outings. So far, 2026 was gentle:)

Adieu France; the Doubs, you were lovely!
Before leaving I went picking blackberries for breakfast and some wild oregano along the river, for back home. Becoming a witch more and more ;)

Cycling to Besançon on a beaaaaau-ti-ful day ☀️☀️ We cycled all the way along the river Doubs to Besançon which is about 32km and we were there in a breeze! Thx to the great tour (non-electrical :)) bikes! I wanna have one now too 😃

We walked and cycled through town, stopped for the occassional croissant and ice cream, drank loads of water and upon leaving we thought we saw beavers… until I looked at their tail and it were muskrats 😆 How cute! (I know, they are invasive animals who destroy our dikes) Never seen them this close before so we spent half an hour just looking and taking pictures. Glad I took my EOS canon with me :) These pics are all I-phone though….

We took the train back and we were gifted an amazing sunset while cycling back ‘home’ along the Doubs valley and its river 🧡 Lovely day!!
