‘In the making’ in Solo 1.2.3. as part of Katha Konfluence! Rooted in the Lucknow gharana tradition of Kathak, Ranju Ramachandran’s artistic practice explores the possibilities of bringing greater freedom and individuality to the form while remaining grounded in its essence. Her exploration of the Karanas from the Natyashastra brings another dimension to this practice, introducing a vibrant movement vocabulary that adds new textures, beauty and possibilities to Kathak’s storytelling. As a performer and educator, she seeks to approach Kathak as a living, evolving art form, one that can speak meaningfully to diverse audiences and contexts while remaining connected to its lineage. Date: September 27th Time: 7 to 8.30 pm Venue: Aal Studio, Kochi Ticket: Rs 350 DM or comment ‘Katha’ and we’ll share the details. All three performances of Solo 1.2.3. are included in a single pass.
