Better late than never. A few weeks ago I decided to do a stopover in Germany on the way to a business trip to the US. I wanted to spend some time with by parents and I had a blast. They live in the countryside and everything is so relaxing. No stress, no internet, no busy timetables… Our church back home has a very famous baroque organ built in 1751 and I used to play it and I had a blast playing it again… amazing how complicated things get when you have to worry about foot pedals as well ;) catching up with friends, floating down a river for 30km, and of course some hiking in the mountains. Grateful for family, friends and that I’m fit enough to enjoy all of this. by @abaumhof

Finally made it to Blue Lake in winter and it’s a dream come true. An incredible solo backcountry tour from Guthega to Little Twynam into Blue Lake, then up to Charlottes Pass to Perisher and back to Guthega. Man, I’m so frothing to get into ice climbing. By accident I was in the right spot and saw a couple of guys do it and it looks magic. Just unreal … but like always I overdid my little trip a bit and spent a solid 8h out there and covered almost 1,100 vertical meters over 21km. The backcountry is mindblowingly magic. Even though the snowfall is disastrous this winter, the coverage is actually quite ok. I can only imagine how cool those chutes are when there is proper powder… big shoutout to @guthegainn for serving weisbier on tap… that was exactly what I needed after this trip… I’m off to buying ice axes now 🤪🤪🤪 taken in Blue Lake by @abaumhof

Our fishing adventures continue… ticked off a major bucket list item and Max and I caught some BIG tuna - the biggest one weighing 63kg!!! Unfortunately that one was on Max’s rod (grrrrr). I recon mine was 50kg as well as I couldn’t really lift it 🤪🤪🤪 We were in seriously deep water approximately 60km offshore where it is over 2000m deep. An epic adventure making memories that last forever. I can tell you next time whether it was beginners luck, but I’ll take it 🤪🤪🤪 we’ll have tuba sashimi for the next couple of days 🤪🤪🤪 taken in South Pacific Ocean by @abaumhof

First backcountry trip of the season 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 Unfortunately we aren’t blessed with a lot of snow this year so far, but that makes these trips even more unforgettable. A magic overnight camping trip to Mt Kosziosko for sunset. It is sooooooo beautiful out there. I completed my Mt Kosziosko triple. I got up hiking, mtbiking and now splitboarding. Almost didn’t make it up there because I neglected the first and most important rule of backcountry. Always be prepared. I thought I didn’t need my crampons and was lucky to have friends like @prkc02 who shared theirs 🤪🤪🤪 It was very icy and thus not much riding, but it was an epic adventure and hopefully we get some more snow soon for more adventures… #hikesomething #splitboarding #backcountry taken in Mt Kosciuszko Summit by @abaumhof

SOUND ON TO THE MAX…. Do what you love… and learn something new… I may be doing injustice to Sergei Rachmaninoff by playing the epic finale of the 2nd movement of the 2nd piano concerto, but technology allows me to bring an orchestra into my home and I had a blast learning this finale. Every classical pianist would rip me and my amateurish technique apart, but for me it’s the same as wingfoiling. I may not be the best, but I have the most fun 🤪🤪🤪 for all automated audio scanners: this is my own live performance of Rachmaninoff’s 2nd Piano Concerto, Movement 2, with orchestra. All audio is original and performed live. by @abaumhof

I had the time of my life surfing at @latitudezerosurfresorts in Telo Islands. We were lucky to be there for a good swell and had epic waves. Super cool sessions at monkeys and lebah and mishos. I got humbled more than a few times by the ocean but managed to stay injury free and surfed some of my best waves of my life. Incredible grateful for the experience and I’m surfing better than ever and feel that the best is yet to come 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 #betterlatethannever😂 #surfsomething #latitudezero #happy taken in Latitude Zero Resorts by @abaumhof

Cracker Weekend riding bikes in Thredbo and enjoying the mountains. Did my first couple laps of Cannonball top to bottom for the season and it felt soooooooo good. I didn’t do it earlier as I didn’t want to hurt myself and then be out of action for the snow trips 🤪🤪🤪 I can still do it 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻rode with @lloydmgodfrey up to Mt Kosziosko for an epic sunrise on top of Australia. What a weekend and I’m soo happy and grateful to spend a bit of time in our beautiful mountains… taken in Mt Kosciuszko Summit by @abaumhof

Part two of our North American trip brought us again to Baldface lodge in Nelson,BC. 4 days of backcountry skiing with snowcat assist. Luckily we got 15cm fresh snow when we got there, but the snow conditions weren’t massive this year. Luckily that also meant low avalanche danger and we were able to do some of the most epic runs that were my steepest runs ever (> 40 degrees). Massive mountains with untouched snow is a feeling that I can’t get enough of. Big shoutout to our epic crew that made everything so much more fun. Especially our party runs that always ended in complete carnage 🤪🤪🤪 an unbelievable trip and I can’t wait to do it again next year… taken in Baldface Lodge, Nelson Bc by @abaumhof

The adventure that is life keeps going. We embarked on a 3-day splitboarding journey through California's Sierra Nevada. We camped in yurts at 2,600m, launching various excursions up to 3,600m. The experience was raw - just nature and myself, earning every turn. A standout moment was a 10pm descent under the full moon, no lights needed. Purely epic. So stoked to be able to experience that connection to the mountains and cant wait for more splitboarding adventures…. taken in Virginia Lakes, Eastern Sierra by @abaumhof

Well, you can call me Captain Andreas now. Max and I caught our very first marlin on our own little boat… approx 2.5m long and by far the biggest fish we ever caught… conditions were perfect and we went out offshore and we couldn’t believe it when we first hooked a marlin that we unfortunately lost. Luckily we found another one that we successfully landed. One more item off my bucket list and an epic experience with my favourite son… on the way home, we ran into a pod of dolphins in beautiful glassy conditions. An unbelievable day out in the ocean… by @abaumhof

Some action filled days in our beautiful snowy mountains. Mountain biking, nature, echidnas, sunsets, dry slope airbag snowboard jump training, and a 50km MTB ride from the top of eagles nest all the way to Jindabyne… still frothing… taken in Thredbo, Snowy Mountains, Mt Kosciuszko National Park Nsw by @abaumhof

I started my wing foil journey a few years ago because I wanted to have fun in bay surf going in and out of little ocean waves… well, yesterday was the day I finally let go of my little fears and went out in treacherous conditions of 25kn winds and pelting rain. But I had the time of my life and am still filled with adrenaline and stokeness. I’m beyond grateful that I can experience so many new things later in my life 🤪🤪🤪still lots to learn, but you’ll know where you’ll find me now when the conditions line up 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻 thanks to all my water friends for all your encouragement over the years… by @abaumhof
