when i changed my major to energy management, i didn’t realize i would be working with an energy DRINK company! i’ve been keeping a secret… about 4 months ago, i started my interview process with @redbull. hoping to receive this once in a lifetime opportunity, i waited and waited to hear my answer back. 3 months later, i officially got the phone call. i answered and accepted. this last Wednesday i had my first day with the team and started a new chapter in my college journey!i am officially excited to announce my position on OU’s campus as one of Redbull’s student marketeers!!! i am so incredibly stoked to serve the campus i know and love, especially with the drink i have by my side everyday! catch me in the iconic mini cooper this fall ;)here’s to giving the university of oklahoma some wiiings!!! boomer!! 🪽❤️🌀💫🫧#redbull #redbullgivesyouwings #beststudentjobintheworld by @abbey.stemmons

if you know me you know my story. if you just stumbled onto my page, let me introduce myself, my name is abbey stemmons and i am a child SA survivor. 13 years ago, when i was 6 1/2 years old, i went through something so horrendous and terrible. i felt an immense amount of shame for something that wasn’t even my fault. for years i struggled with being a victim of SA. when i first was abused i wrote a note saying i wanted to spread awareness on the subject. SA cases happen almost everyday. it’s tragic and it breaks my heart. but saying that, and speaking from experience, you can heal. it is possible to work through and walk forward. be open and vulnerable, i know it’s hard. i know, it’s hard to use your voice. but i was given one for a reason and you were too. speaking up and speaking out is so incredibly important. my God given voice is something i will forever be grateful for. spreading awareness is something i love doing and i will keep doing, it’s so important to me. that’s why i want to become a lawyer, thats what i was called to do. God called me out of my shame and called me to become something greater. because i stepped into my faith, i turned into someone brave and vulnerable. i became a beacon. because i was faithful, i had the greatest opportunities given to me, such as speaking at DWDW, and Balto week, and even hopping on a podcast episode with a friend. it does get better, you can heal, you are loved. i am a survivor yes, but does what happen to me define me or my future actions? no. but do i want to continue fighting for victims that come forward? absolutely, God called me to. i will keep fighting for justice, not just for me, but for those who come forward as well. years later, i have friends and a wonderful support system to lean on, my boyfriend who i absolutely love, and takes care of me when i struggle. my family who has believed me since day one, and my mom and my sister have seriously become some of my best friends. i grew from this tragic event. i grew wings and i will continue to soar. i encourage you to speak up, always.if you want to learn more about my story; here is my youtube video: https://youtu.be/x9Rdc8X-HdE?si=9dzcqJKzpWThjqxx by @abbey.stemmons
