With that the 2026 race season comes to an end:

I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was disappointed coming across the finish line and seeing the time on the clock. With over twice as much distance trained as this time last year I was expecting a PR. The world had other plans and every km became a mental and physical battle not to forfit the race. Sometimes unexpected circumstances happen on race day and sometimes the training doesn’t match the performance. That’s the beauty of the sport though. It wouldn’t be fun if it was easy and every run was a ‘win’.

After taking a 7 year hiatus from running due to mental battles with the sport, I’m feeling blessed to be back crossing finishing lines. This sport was the cornerstone of my childhood and early university years, and every run I get to take now is a reminder of how lucky I am to have found my way back to something I once thought I had lost.

This wasn’t a failure; it was a success—a reminder to keep going when things get tough and never lose sight of the dream.

As dad would say “never give up, never give in”. Marathon training starts now in an attempt to fulfill my childhood dream. 🫶🏻🦄

Gold ranking half marathon time for RunNB on my first official half 🏆✨

Energy was unmatched for the first race of the season 🎉🏃🏼‍♀️💫 Getting to race alongside so many friends and cheer each other on made this my favourite race yet.

Shout out to Tabi for flying half way across the country to run her first half with me. So beyond proud of that girl every single day for chasing her dreams 💛 And of course a shoutout to my superstar Kenzie for being right by my side through all the tough training and race day. No one I would rather suffer through 21.1K with 💛 Finally a shoutout to Pat for completing his first ever race!! He made it look easy (as always) 😎

With that my first official half now in the books, it definitely won’t be the last. Such a fun distance to race. Now onto the next training block ➡️

P.S. Don’t mind my face in the last pic, I was seconds away from 🤮ing taken in Fredericton, New Brunswick by @abbeyevans02
