There’s nothing I love more than a party, especially one with custom details 😏🪡🍸(shocker)! My @abbode team brought so much to life: custom cocktail napkins with the prettiest four corner detail, a love story for the bar tracing the most important milestones in our relationship, a collage board of our proposal, and all of the gorgeous graphics. Specifically thank you to @anikakwan @jaygrxnt @josiahrentschler2 !! The one of a kind @melissenewyork bag!!!!! The highlight of the night 🥹 My perfect custom accessory from my friend @melissemartineau incredible brand, filled with sentimental drawings that tied back to things that represent Jon and I, all put together by her team. We even matched the exact trim to my dress✨ I had dreamed of an @elizabethmayhew cake for years, and getting one for our engagement party was everything! Every detail felt like us, with so many nods to Jon and me and our life together. @bigmcevoy and I have grown our businesses side by side over the last five years, and there’s always a @missmacsbakery cake at my special occasions. I was not planning on changing that for this one. My favorite, most delicious cake, hands down!!!! @rat_tart Gave everyone the most gorgeous custom illustrations, done on stationery designed to feel like a note from Hotel Chelsea, complete with our names and engagement date. Hands down one of the highlights of the evening. When I found @shopladyandgeorge, I knew I needed one of these trays. She was able to expedite one for me when she got back from her honeymoon and get it to me just in time. So grateful I get to have this in my home forever now. As someone who is extremely nostalgic, emotional, and bad at goodbyes, closing our Elizabeth Street store has not been easy for me. While we are so fortunate to be ending this chapter to continue on to bigger (😉) and better things, the last 5 years here have truly been the best and most transformative of my life, with the only true constant being this space. What it has looked like and what it has contained has changed, but the core belief of figuring it out and failure not being an option has remained. From 25 to 30, from boyfriend to fiancé, from childless to dog mom, from having to consider closing our doors to finding success, from being a solo founder to having an incredible business partner and team, from vintage shop to scalable lifestyle brand. I clearly remember closing our Mott Street pop up and opening up here, I was so scared and had no idea what the future would hold. If I think back to the girl who decided to take a chance on being on the hook to spend thousands of dollars a month in rent in NYC (my own plus the stores 😂) for 5 years, with not much of a plan and a case of delusional optimism, I would say the same girl with that same case of delusional optimism is still here. If you look at the definition of delusional optimism it’s: an irrational, unshakeable belief that things will work out well, even when logic, facts, or past setbacks suggest otherwise. If I could distill my 5.5 years as an entrepreneur into one lesson, it’s this. If you believe in yourself, the people around you, and what you are building, the rest will come. Thank you so much to our fabulous and supportive customers for the last magical 5 years, for making my dreams come true, and my fabulous team who executes my vision and supports me every day!
