Every great designer starts somewhere. 🤍✨

Our students’ first moodboards at ABC of Design with Masterpiece! From ideas to inspiration, they’re learning how to bring concepts to life, one design at a time.

This is just the beginning. 🎨🪄

A little behind the scenes of preparing for my students. 🤍✨

Every detail is intentional, every item thoughtfully selected, because learning interior design should be an experience, not just a class.

From the lessons to the practical sessions, the goal is to raise confident, creative designers who understand the beauty of the craft.

Welcome to ABC of Design with Masterpiece, where we are building more than designers; we are building a community. 🛠️🤍

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to teach the students @abcofdesignswithmasterpiece on Building a Sustainable Portfolio Using Social Media.

I talked about why, in this digital age, social media should be more than a place to post pretty pictures. It can become a living portfolio that showcases your skills, documents your work, builds credibility and helps the right people discover you.

I genuinely enjoyed every part of the session. From teaching to the conversations, questions and seeing the students think differently about how they can use social media.

Grateful for the opportunity to teach, connect and share what I know.🥰🩷

One of the things we love about our training is we bring professionals into the classroom to share their knowledge and expertise.

In this session, @_themediachic took our students through Building a Sustainable Portfolio Using Social Media — giving them practical insight they can apply beyond the classroom.

Because becoming an Interior Designer is more than learning how to create beautiful spaces. It’s also about understanding the creative aspects too.

Yesterday, our students had the opportunity to learn from Maureen Pius on Business and Financial Management for Interior Designers.

The session covered understanding the business side of interior design beyond the craft, key financial management principles—separating personal and business finances, tracking costs, and knowing the difference between revenue and true profit.

They also learnt practical sales strategies for growing a design business, giving our students practical insight into how to build a design career that is not just creatively excellent, but financially sustainable and structured for growth.

Thank you @triumph_business_consults for sharing your knowledge and experience with our Interior Design students.

Pinterest can inspire you.
But if you want to learn Interior Design, inspiration is only the beginning.
There’s also understanding spaces, making design decisions, working with clients and knowing how to turn ideas into actual results.
That’s why practical learning matters.

MONDAY AT DESIGN WITH MASTERPIECE ✨

We kicked off with one of the most important parts of the design process: understanding the client.

From learning how to communicate with clients and write a clear brief, to identifying their needs vs. wants and assessing the actual space.

Because before you design the space, you have to understand the person.

Follow along as we take you through our design process. 🤍

Classes are closed for now. Next cohort opens next year. taken in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria, West Africa by @abcofdesignswithmasterpiece

What does it mean to consult with a client?

A design consultation is more than just asking, “What colour do you like?”

It is the first step in understanding your client, their space, their lifestyle, their needs, and what they want the space to achieve.

During a consultation, you may discuss:

• The client’s vision and preferences
• How the space will be used
• Their style and aesthetic
• Functionality and space requirements
• Budget and expectations
• Materials, finishes and furniture preferences
• Project timeline and scope
• Any challenges or existing issues with the space

As a designer, your job is not to simply design what the client asks for. Your job is to understand what they need and translate that into a functional, beautiful and intentional space.

A good consultation sets the foundation for a successful project.

Remember: Before you design the space, understand the person who will use it.
