✨New to our Gift Shop ✨

This autumn you can pick up a pack of Aberglasney Tulip bulbs so next spring your garden border can look like it was designed by our gardening team of experts. Our Head Gardener and Gardens Director have done the hard work of co-ordinating the colour schemes - you just need to plant the bulbs 💐🌷

There's approximately 40 bulbs in each bag - we have the mix that will go into the pool garden border and the bulbs that will be planted in the mansion terrace border.

*Please note - You do not have to pay the entrance fee to the gardens if you want to just visit the shop. by @aberglasney

Autumn’s Embrace

Introducing Alison Ross-

Alison Ross is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist and poet based in North Wales.
She creates figurative paintings exploring memory, stillness, human connection and the subtle space between the ordinary and the imagined.
Poetry is an integral part of her creative practice. Her poems and paintings often develop alongside one another, each helping to shape the atmosphere and emotional language of the other.
Her figures inhabit quiet interiors and atmospheric coastal landscapes, often accompanied by animals, moonlight or symbolic elements. With touches of magical realism and an open-ended, cinematic quality, the paintings invite viewers to pause and discover their own stories within them.

I am delighted that Alison will be joining us at Aberglasney Gardens for The Autumn Gathering late this month.

The Autumn Gathering Opens from October 28th till November 6th.
October 10-6pm
November 10:30-4:30pm
Entrance fee will apply

Open Evening 31st October 5-8pm with free entrance to the gardens.

This week's blog is by another one of our new student gardeners...

"I’m Rory, one of the new Aberglasney trainees. Over the past few years I’ve been pursuing an interest in horticulture alongside working as a designer and archivist. In 2023, I completed a City & Guilds course in Practical Horticulture at OrganicLea, a food growing cooperative in East London. This broad introduction to horticulture got me hooked and made me think about the wider ecological role of gardens.

In 2024, I took part in a week's gardening residency at Grizedale Arts, an exposed garden in a wild part of the Lake District. Assisting with planting, woven fence building and constructing nut tree cages from coppiced wood.

More recently, I worked as a self-employed gardener maintaining spaces in my local area. I also volunteered at a local project, Hackney School of Food, bringing together growing and cooking for local children.

I'm excited to watch the garden change through the seasons, learn about its many plants and trees, and spot the interesting pollinators that visit Aberglasney." by @aberglasney

Aster ‘lady in black’ (Symphyotrichum lateriflorus ‘Lady in Black’, formerly Aster lateriflorus) is a striking, bushy herbaceous perennial known for its dark, purple-black foliage and produces masses of tiny white daisy-like blooms with rosy-pink to crimson centres which appear from late summer through autumn (typically August to November). It is highly attractive to bees, butterflies and other late-season pollinators.
