1174 kg of Pakhala….🫶🏻
We didn’t just create a record. We told a story, but this journey started much before that.

The day I walked away from a stable career, I knew Odia cuisine deserved a bigger stage… a louder voice… a global spotlight.

What once began as a “crazy dream” of creating 190+ dishes around has now evolved into something far more meaningful, that is, 1174 kg largest Pakhala serving with 365-dish spread, because Pakhala isn’t a one-day celebration… it’s an emotion we live every single day.

From Swarna Usuna rice to the soulful Maikapatna curd, from mango ginger to regional condiments
every ingredient on that platter represents the richness, fertility, and diversity of Odisha.

Because Pakhala is never just about only rice that’s fermented .
It’s about the sides, the stories, the soil, and the people.

48 hours of no sleep.
30+ days of relentless groundwork.
Countless hands, hearts, and hustle.

Grateful to Odisha Tourism for believing in this vision.

Nua khai is an agrarian Festival of Odisha, specially celebrated in Western part of the odisha. But this pictures celebrates a very special dish SARSATIYA from that part of Odisha .
This is the man behind reviving the Sarsatiya and cooking Sarsatiya for his life and great news that SARSATIYA is about to get GI tagged .
I was so happy to share stage with him on television and see him live making Sarsatiya and listening stories about Sarsatiya.
Thanks a lot to This legendary Sarsatiya Mausa (Pabhulal Gupta ) and his family who has been making Sarsatiya for ages.
Sarsatiya is our Jewel and the family making is our Heritage .
