Just a girl making her dreams come true!!! Everybody, meet @the_kk_brunet, founder and owner of @dolceamore_cafe, now located at 206 Lake Drive in Covington. Last year when we were spiraling, trying to figure out how to pivot after the blow from Sucré, this earth angel showed up (thank you @empowerher_life) at the same networking party. We met, talked for hours and she started supplying the most beautiful products to our stores. Her dream as a 2nd generation baker was to have her own shop. Well now she does. @dolceamore_cafe is sitting pretty in the space Sucré used to be in Covington. Northshore, you are in for the sweetest surprise!! Everyone, please follow her, support her, and indulge in the beautiful desserts she bakes with so much love!! Here’s to you, Kristen! It’s an honor and a privilege to witness your dream come true!! A love letter to 2026💌

My dearest 2026,

I am so very thankful you are here. Your predecessor was not very nice to us. Frankly, she beat the shit out of us. Nevertheless, we took the blows, learned the lessons, licked our wounds, counted our blessings and pulled ourselves back up. You, on the other hand, hold so much hope and promise. We look so forward to getting to know you and all of the change you will bring. The projects, the growth, the changes you have promised our businesses fill me with excitement and hope.

Happy beautiful piano day!!! 🎹 I’ve played my whole life. I’ve worked very hard to be mediocre at best. My parents gave me a beautiful piano that has lived most recently in my restaurants. While I can’t play well, I have mad love and appreciation for its beauty. I leaned from @morningbrew that today is piano day bc it’s the 88th day of the year and a piano has 88 keys! Chopin is my favorite.. On a recent trip to Paris I went to see his last apartment where he died and the church where his memorial service was held. Crazy. I had been to both places before and never knew their significance to my favorite composer. Listen to his beautiful Fantasie Imporomptu in C-Sharp Minor. by @abney_harper

t’s time! Strawberry season is upon us 🍓and they are a pavlova’s best friend! Slice strawberries and let them marinate in some sugar so they get soft and weepy and juicy. Then layer store bought whipped cream, sugared strawberries and crumbled pavlovas and finished with the strawberry syrup rendered from the sugared strawberries in a bowl or glass and enjoy!!
