The midlife crisis post none of us were expecting — even me 😂 Probably more to come as I turn 45 on Thursday…

After a very raw and unexpected (but God knew) discussion with my husband this morning , here’s where I’m at. Most people would think on it, deliberate with their teams on Monday, sleep on it — but not me. I’ve never operated that way.

I’m a ready, FIRE, aim kinda girl. Once I feel the call, I leap and God handles the rest. Moved to Argentina on a whim. Married my husband after a few months of dating. The list goes on. Just leap, the net will appear. Make a choice. Move into the consequences— good or bad. Life waits for no one. Himming and hawing never gets you anywhere but swirling in your own anxiety and surrendered to the devil, the author of chaos.

I know it’s a bold claim and I don’t take that lightly - but it’s true. We haven’t had the flu or even colds in 4 years. Temptation is inevitable, but God is faithful.

Whether it’s our words, our actions, or the choices we make, we will all face moments when we’re tempted to step outside of obedience to Christ.

But what a reassuring reminder that we don’t have to navigate those moments in our own strength. When we turn to God in prayer and abide in Him, He is faithful to provide a way out.

Sometimes that means catching our words before we speak or pausing before we act. Whatever the temptation, we can turn our eyes to God and ask Him to help us recognize the way out and choose obedience.

We may not be able to avoid temptation, but we can trust God to help us through it.

How can stewardship create more capacity?? Stewardship is about being faithful with what God has already placed in our hands.
Sometimes we pray for more capacity, but God may be calling us to simply care well for what we have right now. If we can steward well the routines and rhythms that the Lord has for us NOW, it literally protects our mental energy that we would exert on other things, and literally creates more mental capacity and space for us. It’s when we bob and weave outside of His plans for us that we can feel so exhausted. Ask me how I know 😅

When we steward what He’s given us with intention, we make room for Him to do more than we could ask or imagine. It’s not about striving to do it all. It’s about being faithful in what’s right in front of us, finding deeper contentment and trusting Him with the increase.
There is something beautiful about growing in our capacity while keeping our hearts rooted in Him.

Natural fibers for beginners! 🤎 If you’re trying to transition away from polyester, acrylic, and other synthetic fabrics, here’s where I’d start.

For years I felt called to speak to other women about health and wellness, but the size of my body disqualified me from that. I’m sure some people may comment “we’re beautiful at any size” or some other body positivity phrase, but that’s not what was true for me and this conviction kept me quiet. I had to personally make a decision to finally shed some of the extra weight I was carrying before I could comfortably carryout this assignment that the Lord was SO patiently waiting on me to ready myself for.

In 2024 I began losing weight on my own, but needed more support, so in 2025 I signed up to work with a nutrition coach and made the investment in the support I needed to continue making progress. I’m still on this journey, but I’m working hard to deny my flesh, to have discipline — not for looks, but for my health and more importantly, for the mission God has been asking me to do for years.

SO what is it that you’ve lacked discipline in that you know NOW IS THE TIME to face it and get after it? Who is God trying to put you in front of or to link arms with that you can’t because you’re not yet disciplined in your flesh to be qualified for the assignment?

This isn’t about perfection, but rather, obedience. And there is GOOD FRUIT and GOOD GIFTS on the other side of obedience. Sometimes we have to get out of our own way, scale the mountain, so that we can get to the blessing on the other side of the climb. by @aboveandbeyondshop

Let’s start with water💧

Of all the things we bring into our homes, water is one of the easiest to overlook. It’s simply there, coming from the tap, filling our glasses and pots and coffee makers without much thought at all.

But I’ve found that some of the most worthwhile changes in our homes begin with simply noticing.

What is in the water coming into your home?
What are you using to filter it, if anything?
And what would you like to know more about?

I think it’s worth asking these questions, not because we need to be fearful of everything, but because there is something lovely about understanding the things we use every day.

So we’re beginning a little series about integrating more low tox decisions into your home and lifestyle and we hope you’ll stick around! We hope to make this simple, low budget and give you options so it’s one less thing to add to your mental checklist!

A little elderberry tip you may not know… you can FREEZE it! Our elderberry syrup is made with raw honey, which doesn’t freeze so the contents of our jars don’t expand, meaning you can easily put them in the freezer to slow the aging process!

If you go through your elderberry syrup quickly or are at high risk of exposures (i.e. school kids 😅), you can order more than one jar and keep the extras in your freezer. Since we ship once a month, this is a great way to have another jar ready to go if you happen to run out before your next shipment.
Freezing helps preserve the syrup by slowing down the natural changes that happen over time. And because our syrup is made with real, natural ingredients, you may notice some settling or separation — just give it a good shake once it’s thawed!
When you’re ready for your next jar, move it from the freezer to the refrigerator and let it thaw there.

We live in a world that is quite literally obsessed with knowledge. If anyone has a question, they immediately pull up ChatGPT or Google to find the answer. We have to know the latest celebrity gossip, the news is on all day, and we have watch parties for murder trials. 😵‍💫 Is this serving us?

Biblically we discover that there is a weight that can come with knowing more.

The more we learn and the more we see, the more aware we become of the brokenness in the world, the things that aren’t as they should be, and the things we cannot fix or control.

I read a scripture that really painted a clear picture for me:
“For in much wisdom is much grief, And he who increases knowledge increases sorrow.”
‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭1‬:‭18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

We were never meant to have every answer or carry every burden. There will always be things we don’t understand, things we wish we could change, and things that are simply beyond our understanding...

And perhaps this is part of what draws us back to God.

We can seek wisdom and grow in understanding while still remembering that we are not meant to have every answer. There will always be things we cannot make sense of and things that are beyond our control. This is where we grow in faith, and rest in trust.

Philippians 4:8 reminds us to focus on what is good and pure and noble and true. So keeping our flesh obedient is key.

When Adam and Eve gained insight into the knowledge of good and evil after eating from the tree, there was no going back: but the Lord still calls us to focus on the good. Not IGNORE the world around us - we can observe it, remain informed, while not FOCUSING on it.

Wisdom may show us how much we don’t know. Faith reminds us Who does. taken in Columbus OHIO by @aboveandbeyondshop
