This massive outpouring of support and passion from so many people has been overwhelming in the last few days. Thank you Momen, thank you Dance, thank you dancers, dance teachers and most importantly, Albert; for restoring my faith in humanity and saying yes to latin pom.

In addition, this month is also my 10th anniversary in NY, and my 20th as a designer. Who’s counting? Me!
It’s been 20 years of worrying I’m sending the right file to the printer. And also 20 of figuring out how to keep dancing while designing.

Before moving to NY 2016 I gave a speech about how I’d build a dance team again if I had to, then Momen started; a different kind of team, a husband and husband endeavor, and naturally it continues to be a reminder in my life of simple and meaningful things; connection, kindness, compassion, human effort.

Dance and Design are the two things that get me out of bed in the morning, and I’m happy they have found a way of walking hand-to-hand and co-exist.

Very grateful for all of you nice people who took the time to send me birthday messages, even when I like pineapple on my pizza.

Massive Thank You @typographicsnyc 2026!
Sasha Tochilovsky, Cara DiEdwardo, Barbara Glauber, Zipeng Zhu, Christian Schwartz, and Ellen Lupton. The tech team, the volunteers, the talented speakers I shared the lineup with! I’m in awe of all of you. @boogypaper said “Calligraphy is Choreography” and with this line, finally someone summarized my design and dance life in one sentence.

Ian, Albert, Rob, Demasiado Fino Artistas and Alina Kiliwa, thank you all for helping me putting this presentation together!
