My friends! I’m absolutely thrilled to invite you to join us for a spectacular evening with some of Austin’s finest hot jazz and swing music, social dancing, tap and Lindy hop performances, and more! (Ticket link in bio!)

The Relevators will deliver a set of scorching jazz age bangers, rarities, and originals in the style, followed by the 10-piece Golden Hour Orchestra’s refined yet gritty classic swing. Rising stars in the Austin jazz community, Luke Allen and Shane Dickens, open the show with a duo concert in the lobby.

New to social dancing? Laura Malloy and Matt Jones, founders of Four on the Floor, will teach you the basics so that you can get out on the dance floor and have a grand time!

Peppered through the evening will be performances by Matty Owens (tap) and Rhythm Ramble Jazz Dance, with a jazz poetry reading by David “Jelly Moe” Jellema during the intermission, and capped off with a set by DJ Shortystumpleton of Second Sunday Sock Hop fame (IYKYK).

All of this in the gorgeous setting of Austin’s oldest theater - the Scottish Rite, nestled just south of the UT campus on 18th Sreet. With wood floors for dancing and comfortable chairs for sitting back and enjoying the show, there’s room for everyone. Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind event!

Luke Allen 📸🔙from @teakeasytea to the stage 📍 @paramountaustin this SUNDAY for LEGACY by @balletafriquedance with @china.smith.pro

➡️🎟️🔗 in BIO for LEGACY which is a bold and luminous work that traces the arc of a people; their wounds, their remembrance, and their relentless becoming. Through five movements, Ballet Afrique’s professional company weaves together the aesthetic traditions of the African diaspora with the full technical and expressive range of contemporary dance.

Luke Allen is only in his mid 20’s and already sounds like he stepped out of a smoke-curled jukebox in 1958. That’s why he was a perfect fit to be music director and featured artist for LEGACY
📍 @paramountaustin 🔗 @balletafriquedance BIO

Based in Austin, Texas, Luke @absoluke_pitch has carved out a name for himself as both a dynamic jazz trumpeter and a velvet-voiced vocalist, blending classic swing-era charm with the spark of a modern bandstand. His performances carry that rare electricity that makes a room lean forward, glasses paused mid-air.

Rooted in the golden recordings of the 1940s, 50s, and 60s, Luke’s voice carries the warmth and authority of the great jazz storytellers. Listeners often hear echoes of Jimmy Rushing’s richness and Nat King Cole’s effortless cool in his phrasing. On trumpet, his tone is clean, lyrical, and unhurried, drawing natural comparisons to masters like Kenny Dorham, Clifford Brown, and Miles Davis. Every note feels chosen, never rushed, always intentional.

In what has quickly become a breakout year on the Austin jazz scene, Luke has performed and recorded with a wide range of respected local ensembles, steadily building a reputation as one of the city’s most compelling young voices in jazz. Whether crooning a standard or lifting his horn for a soaring solo, Luke Allen delivers the kind of performance that feels timeless, joyful, and undeniably alive. taken in Paramount Theatre by @absoluke_pitch
