My friends @lefty_gazelle and @ryan_gould_musician are throwing a really cool swing dancing festival and you should totally go! 🎷 HOT JAZZ SUMMER 🎺 🗓️ Sat, Aug 29 🕥 6–11PM 📍 Scottish Rite Theater 🎶 Ft. @goldenhourorchestra @therelevators @absoluke_pitch @shanedickenns @mattymakesrhythm And more! Lauryn and Ryan Gould are two of the most welcoming and community centered musicians in the scene. I first met them at their inaugural Golden Hour Jam (every 2nd and 4th Sunday at @batchatx !) back in 2022. It was also the first jam session I sat in at in Austin, which was super scary for me at the time because I had just started playing trombone again after 5 years off the instrument. I feel so incredibly lucky and proud to call them my friends, colleagues, and fellow musicians. Their love of music, community, and the City of Austin is very much a big inspiration to me and why I do what I do. Swipe to see other folks involved in the production and my first time seeing them perform! DEFINITELY DO NOT SWIPE to the very end for some really bad trombone playing (RIP) 2 weeks into my return to the horn 🤢🤢🪊💀. Fortunately, I sound slightly better now. GO TO HOT JAZZ SUMMER THIS WEEKEND. Also we could use a couple more volunteers and you should DM me if you’re interested!
