In Infisal, Palestinian-Canadian artist Abulzooz narrates the fragmentation and regeneration of collective memory within the Palestinian diaspora. Field recordings, interviews, and snippets of folk melody unravel and reassemble in real time without resolve, cycling through repetition, collapse, renewal, and the persistent mutations and reinventions of culture in the face of barriers.

Dans Infisal, l’artiste palestino-canadien Abulzooz met en récit la fragmentation et la régénération de la mémoire collective au sein de la diaspora palestinienne. Enregistrements de terrain, entrevues et fragments de mélodies folkloriques se défont et se recomposent en temps réel sans jamais chercher la résolution, traversant plutôt répétition, effondrement, renouveau et mutations persistantes de la culture face aux frontières et aux obstacles.

Nous sommes un collectif de musicien·nes, preneur·ses de parole, artistes et travailleur·euses en culture comprenant Bibi Club, Bon Enfant, Choses sauvages, Corridor, Elissa Kayal, HAWA B, La Sécurité, Magi Merlin, Myriam Gendron, Nadah El Shazly et Emna Mâaref, Nathalie Doummar, Pomme, Radwan Ghazi Moumneh, Safia Nolin, Zaidybaby – et nous nous mobilisons pour amasser des fonds afin de venir en aide aux Palestinien·nes qui vivent sous l’oppression d’Israël, qui vivent un génocide, qui vivent sous l’apartheid.
Nous sommes Uni·es pour la Palestine.

Horrifié·es par les images qui nous proviennent de la Palestine, par l’inaction de nos gouvernements, par le manque de couverture adéquate des médias, nous avons décidé de nous rassembler afin de poser un geste simple mais fédérateur : produire un spectacle-bénéfice afin d’amasser des fonds pour aider les Palestinien·nes. Nous sommes nombreux·euses à vouloir soutenir cette cause – et ce nous est inclusif, plus grand que notre collectif. Nous tendons la main pour que notre nombre m s’accroisse. Informons-nous. Troquons notre confort pour l’action. Nous souhaitons montrer qu’il est possible de poser des actions de soutien à petite échelle. En écrivant à nos élu·es, en publiant sur les réseaux, en participant aux manifestations, en éduquant nos familles et ami·es. Des familles entières ont été tuées dans ce génocide, tout est à reconstruire et la famine est toujours présente. Nous sommes solidaires du peuple palestinien.

Rassemblons-nous, mobilisons-nous, unissons-nous : nous pouvons le faire
