5 years of the ABYSS Brewery + Tap Lewes - All Day Party Saturday 10th October

Constructed during Covid times with the support of 500 crowdfunders, the ABYSS Brewery + Tap re-connected what began life as an 18th century Malthouse back to its brewing roots. It is now a thriving home for the freshest, tastiest beers and a wider community of Krazy Krafters, Quiz Lovers, Kayakers, Cycle Clubbers and the rest… Thank you to all our local regulars and visitors from further afield for supporting our business throughout the years!

Join us for a day of celebration including :

TITCH HILL WINE Collaboration 2026
Another year, another harvest 🍇We welcomed our friends @titchhillwines once again into the ABYSS to brew two very special beers.
The first beer HALU GALU II brewed with Pinot Meunier grape skins will be released later this year. The second ale, a skin contact wild ale brewed with Muscaris Bacchus, Solaris white skins will be released in 2027 after time spent ageing in wood. by @abyssbrewing

SUNDOWN 🌞

This Sunday, Studio Imeus joins forces with Andy from ABYSS for four hours of off-kilter, Balearic-adjacent sounds down by the river.

Expect psychedelic poolside classics, krautrock, vintage electronics, cosmic oddities, wonky grooves and anything else we damn please.

It’s also the closing weekend of the ABYSS Pop-Up until next spring — so your last chance this year to grab a beer by the Ouse, watch the sun go down and pretend summer isn’t quite over yet.

SEPTEMBER in the ABYSS
The shadows are longer but the suns still with us and the taproom is pouring OCCULTA our new dark Mexican Lager.
ABYSS Cycle Club ride again with a gravel edition Sat 5th. We carry on Kayaking with a special tour end of the month down river to our closing party at @abysspopupnewhaven Sat 26th Sept.

CLOUD ISLAND 4.5% DDH Pale Ale 🌴
Time to chill on our favourite island, float away on a cloud of sticky tropical fruits: Citra, Galaxy + Simcoe Cryo.

One of our favourite beers of recent ABYSS times, the music is Hiroki Tamaki - "River” more recently released on vinyl, the first track on Nippon Acid Folk 1970-1980 Time Capsule Records. by @abyssbrewing

Calling all women who love to ride! Join Girls Who Ride for a fun, social spin across the South Downs, followed by a well-earned pint at ABYSS.
Saturday 8th August 5pm.

This is a ladies-only social ride, exploring the beautiful South Downs on a relaxed guided adventure.

We'll meet at the ABYSS Brewery + Tap, at 5pm, ready to roll out at 5.30pm.

The route is to be confirmed, but expect around 18km of riding (approximately 1.5 hours) across the rolling South Downs. The terrain will include a mix of gravel tracks, trails and hills, so gravel bikes and mountain bikes are recommended.

We'll return to the brewery afterwards, where every rider will receive a free pint of ABYSS. Food will also be available from the Boho Baja food truck, serving delicious tacos and burgers.

Who can join?

This ride is ladies only, creating a relaxed, supportive atmosphere for riders to enjoy the trails together.

We recommend :
•⁠ ⁠⁠A reasonable level of fitness for the distance and South Downs climbs
- ⁠A well-maintained gravel bike or mountain bike
-⁠ ⁠A helmet
-⁠ ⁠Basic spares to repair a puncture by @abyssbrewing
