While filming Kings of BBQ, we had the chance to travel the country and soak up game from legendary pitmasters in places like St. Louis, Memphis, and Texas. We brought that inspiration back home and poured it straight into these pages. The Flying Dutchman gets all the hype — but what’s the hot dog equivalent when you want the fun without the bun?

Swap the bread (and the calories) for a whole dill pickle. Carve out a little wedge, grill up some Mountain View Hot Dogs, and slide them right into those crunchy green “buns.”

A whole dill pickle clocks in around 5–10 calories, while a standard hot dog bun sits closer to 110–150 calories. Big difference, same game‑day energy.
