The United States has three branches of government.
1. Legislative Branch (creates laws & has the power to declare war) - U.S. Congress: House of Representatives (435 voting Members) and Senate (100 Senators). For more information go to House.gov and senate.gov
2. Executive Branch (carries out laws & the President has the power to create and execute executive orders) - President, Vice President & President’s Cabinet. The Presidents Cabinet also advises the President on handling problems related to their expertise. For more information go to https://www.trumanlibrary.gov/education/three-branches/presidents-cabinet
3. Judicial Branch (interprets the laws)- U.S. Supreme Court & Federal Courts The Supreme Court also adjudicates based on the constitution/determines whether certain actions are constitutional.
Each person (except residents of Washington, DC) have 1 voting Member of the House of Representatives and 2 Senators.
I’ll do separate videos to provide information about each branch.
