My last run of the weekend at the one and only @vchillclimb in the 2027 ZR1X. Out of the box, it’s amazingly fast and capable, but I’ve definitely got some work to do to figure this thing out + I almost killed Mr. Pringle’s timing light 🔦!!!! taken in Virginia City, Nevada by @acesanders

Full @trackattack.app POV of the brand new 2027 ZR1X @vchillclimb winning run, and it definitely surprised me. This one triggers a tad bit late, so end time is faster than official.

With no real seat time in a car that literally hit the 500 mile break-in mark 2 days before loading up for the hill left me to learn the car on a course with zero margin for error. This is the first run I made a significant leap by refraining from over braking and focusing on maintaining more momentum. You definitely can’t no lift these turns in this car 🤠 On this run I am starting to carry more speed thru turns and plan my exits better as it does take a second or so for the boost to build back up and hit warp speed. At no point was the car out of shape. I could tell it was heavy, but it is extremely stable and well planted. Having said that, it felt like the hill was eating up the 1250HP, making me feel like I could have used more 💀

The car was in track mode with TCM on SPORT. I played between this and Track 1, but wasn’t finding that sport was limiting me at the level I was driving.

All in all a successful weekend. Took home the W, didn’t wad the car, hung with the fam, and left some room on the table and a reason to bring it back for 2027. by @acesanders

While we draw major inspiration from yesteryear, the timeline doesn’t work without managing thr present and keeping one eye on the future. Truth be told, our gears get moving from a lot of different places and generations, not just the ’80s and ’90s (although those may be our favorite) And as much as we look to the past, we’re always creating for our future. In love nostalgia, but in an arranged marriage with the future 🔮

The C8 Corvette has been a platform we’ve kept a close eye on. We’ve got eyewear with the Corvette Racing team at Pratt Miller, and it could be argued that we were the ones that convinced Matt Field to pull the trigger and start the build on his. We’ve even seen members of the engineering team behind the ZR1 rocking the glasses so it was inevitable that we would have to explore the C8 at some point.

We waited patiently as the tricks up Chevrolet’s sleeve started to appear.

First came the E-Ray.
Then the Z06.
Then the ZR1.

And before anyone could even take another breath, the ZR1X.

The capabilities being claimed were intriguing on so many levels. A sports car that once made a just a couple hundred horsepower now produced 5X that in a daily driver with a factory backed warranty.

The tension mounted. The twin turbo itch needed to be scratched. It was time to find out for ourselves just how insane this one really was. This one is for future inspiration.

Catch @acesanders running the Heat Wave ZR1X at one of our favorite driving events of the year this weekend in Virgina City, Nevada at the @vchillclimb

And on that note I think it’s safe to say there’s more Corvette X Heat Wave gear in the works. by @acesanders

I’m a little behind on my posting 😬 The GTA is getting a rest for the 2026 @vchillclimb as I check out what the ZR1X Corvette hype is all about. Now it’s time to load up and get ready to spin some very chill laps (with the AC blasting) at my favorite event of the year. by @acesanders

This is what happens when you get your wife’s GMC serviced and start to wander around the Capitol GMC/Chevrolet lot unsupervised. Just for kicks I inquired at the sales dept about the ZR1 and was told I couldn’t get one. After some casual back and forth they agreed to take my number. I watched them scribble it down on a yellow post-it note 😅 and figured I’d never hear about it again.

Turns out that Post-it was pretty official. And when that call finally came in, I was thrown for a loop. It wasn’t just the ZR1, it was the X - The absolute wildest production Corvette ever made.

And it may be hard to believe, but this is the first new car I’ve ever purchased. by @acesanders

Back for an important installment of Founders Friday, and something I take very seriously.

Headwear.

As someone who has spent more hours of their life wearing a hat than not, I hold hats in very high regard. My obsession knows no bounds and I have a giant ever growing hat collection that has served as a continual source of inspiration over the years.

Designing hats is one of my favorite things to do here, and they have become an important cornerstone for the brand to help us really complete releases.

So, after absolutely no one asked for it, here it is:

The TOP 19 HATS OF ALL TIME (by me)

In no particular order.

Except for #1. by @acesanders

I couldn’t have hit the wall harder if I tried. Either a debeaded right front, or a steering box failure lead to a rapid track exit at the worst possible spot. The Yellow B******* journey ends here. It will be missed by all 😢 video captured by @jeffcanyon_ (I was not running an in car GoPro for this race) and it felt like 5X faster than it looks. by @acesanders

It’s hard to believe the Bobby Allison Buick Regal has been in the brand stable for nearly a decade now, as it’s still just as much of an attention grabber today as it was on day 1.

From an outsiders perspective, it seemed like a frivolous purchase, but looking at the path we went down it became part of our story, and not only for just keeping a cool car in-tow, but many designs and themes pre and post purchase draw strong inspirations from this era, so it just really seemed to make sense (to me at least) and heck it’s been pretty cool to have a genuine Winston Cup race car 5’ from my desk at times.

There’s so many stories with this car, and it’s connected us with so many people. I even talked to Bobby Allison (RIP) on the phone about it for an hour once! It has put smiles on countless faces IRL and blessed millions of feeds on social media. As long as we own it, we promise to use it as intended and share it with yall so that the stories and its legacy continue to stack up.

Now time to hit Racing Junk. I saw a sweet Mark Martin & Tony Stewart car for sale this morning. by @acesanders
