First time at the VC Hill Climb did not disappoint. @acesanders just got delivery of his ZR1 X and we had to make something sick for @heatwavevisual . I definitely want to return next year and see what else we can make.

Getting to see the @heatwavevisual #ZR1X in person was crazy, let alone seeing it run all out on the @vchillclimb was nuts! First time seeing the ZR1X in person, and this was a proper showing.

Move over SpaceX, there’s a new rocket mfg. in town 🚀

The 55th running of the Virginia City Hill Climb proved to be a divine first event for our off the showroom floor 2027 ZR1X where we explored what this all-American, 1,250HP AWD beast was all about. Located just south of Reno, Nevada the 5.2 miles, and 1,200’ ascent in elevation proved to be the perfect location to lean into the car that was just past its initial 500 mile break-in limit with zero prior seat time.

The Corvette sung its twin turbo tune, and rode daily driver comfortable all weekend long, with the AC blasting I might add. It sailed across the finish at 3:06:49, fast enough to take the top spot for the weekend and just 2.7 seconds off the fastest time ever officially recorded. Most impressive is it does it with a factory backed 5 year, 75,000 mile warranty 🤯

While we draw major inspiration from yesteryear, the timeline doesn’t work without managing thr present and keeping one eye on the future. Truth be told, our gears get moving from a lot of different places and generations, not just the ’80s and ’90s (although those may be our favorite) And as much as we look to the past, we’re always creating for our future. In love nostalgia, but in an arranged marriage with the future 🔮

The C8 Corvette has been a platform we’ve kept a close eye on. We’ve got eyewear with the Corvette Racing team at Pratt Miller, and it could be argued that we were the ones that convinced Matt Field to pull the trigger and start the build on his. We’ve even seen members of the engineering team behind the ZR1 rocking the glasses so it was inevitable that we would have to explore the C8 at some point.

We waited patiently as the tricks up Chevrolet’s sleeve started to appear.

First came the E-Ray.
Then the Z06.
Then the ZR1.

And before anyone could even take another breath, the ZR1X.

The capabilities being claimed were intriguing on so many levels. A sports car that once made a just a couple hundred horsepower now produced 5X that in a daily driver with a factory backed warranty.

The tension mounted. The twin turbo itch needed to be scratched. It was time to find out for ourselves just how insane this one really was. This one is for future inspiration.
