2 chinatown community historians who can sweet talk their way into any families' records - musical & genealogical. decades apart, they both became the guardians of their dads' beloved record collections, carrying their sonic histories from a chinese laundry in the bronx to chinatown & beyond. the cherry on top ~ 2 dancers who can spin these family favs to life from the streets to the big stage at the drop of a beat

📡 tune in for our 𝟴/𝟴 𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗟𝗜𝗙𝗧𝗢𝗙𝗙 to catch us live from the archive & b2b with our nyc foundations

@thinkchinatown unveiled their newly renovated gallery/studio and performance/community space last week. Instead of a conventional ribbon cutting, the event culminated in a moving communal blessing and knot tying ceremony to reflect the collective effort to sustain our shared community space.
The ceremony was created and led by Alison Kuo ( @kuoskies), the first artist to have a solo show in the gallery (and currently, artist-in-residence, @newmuseum), and @jenniferwenma, the next artist to be shown there.
Congratulations to all at Think!Chinatown––especially founding Board President Amy Chin. @achinowitz has been a tireless champion of the arts in Chinatown and throughout the city. This was a great day for Chinatown and NYC arts. Come on down to see some of the exciting goings on at the newly renovated Think!Chinatown.

1 Think!Chinatown Executive Director (and co-founder) Yin Kong with founding Board President, Amy Chin.
2. Amy Chin, artist Alison Kuo, Wendy, Yin Kong and yours truly. (This was the afternoon before the Knicks' historic 29-point comeback.)
