🐠 🌸 Look 3: ‘DO RE MI’ from the ‘Freckle’ Collection 🌸🐠

We are thrilled to show our latest collection, ‘Freckle,’ showcased in India at @lakmefashionwk in collaboration with The United Nations of India @uninindia, made possible by the R|Elan™️ @r.elan.official Circular Design Challenge @circulardesignchallenge.

“Freckle” is a poetic exploration of the subtle yet profound emotions that sunlight evokes in our daily lives. It reflects on the simple joy and vitality a sunlit day brings—from the gentle warmth on your skin to the surge of dopamine that lifts your mood. The collection draws inspiration from nature’s response to sunlight, mirroring how flowers bloom and how human skin transforms, freckling and texturing in the sun’s presence. It serves as a tribute to the intimate connection between light, life, and the human experience.

This collection emphasises both innovation and regeneration in its materials, incorporating Himalayan nettle, organic hemp, lotus flower, and regenerative merino wool. Each piece is naturally dyed with plants derived from invasive species, turning ecological challenges into vibrant colours while addressing the impact of these plants on local ecosystems. Accessories in the collection feature traditional Spanish weaving techniques using esparto dry branches, hand-gathered from the Spanish mountains. This honours the rich folklore and craftsmanship of Spain, preserving these ancestral practices while combining them with innovative materials.

💍🤍 Bridalwear & a fairytale dream 🤍🧚🏼‍♀️

 And the first dress was my own.

Founder’s thoughts: today I’d like to share something a little more personal. For the last year I have been reflecting on how to make my wedding dress the most special dress I have ever owned and worn. Planning my wedding inspired me so much that I decided to create my own dress. Naturally, things fell into place, and I discovered an incredible passion for bridalwear, and for the unique emotions behind building something so bespoke, something that is full of all the dreams and feelings we project onto our own wedding.

So I would like to introduce Bespoke Bridalwear to you: a new chapter for Acien, capturing a different emotion and feeling, but with the same social impact vision.

Those of you who know me probably know how much purpose working with plant-based and regenerative fibres has given my life, as the daughter of tomato farmers 🍅, and that is going to keep being the case for the materials used in these bridal pieces.

When I was looking for my own wedding dress, I struggled to find 100% regenerative or ethical material choices, and I wanted to walk down the aisle feeling that my dress reflected the values I live by. A new beginning where I continue making choices I can feel proud of.

PURPOSE & CRAFTSMANSHIP
 My dress was made with Himalayan nettle from a social enterprise in Nepal, and regenerative merino wool. It felt so completely mine, I would not have wanted to walk down the aisle in any other dress than one that represents what I stand for 🥹

And my dress is only the beginning. There is more bridal work we have been quietly making over these last months, and I cannot wait to share it with you!

A capsule collection drawing inspiration from the daily rhythms that govern all life.

The collection brings together Acien’s cherished, traditional techniques passed down through generations in Andalusia, with Caitlin Maxwell Hughan’s contemporary dye process developed at the Royal College of Art.

Guided by a shared commitment to regeneration and respect for the Earth, the pieces are made using plant-based yarns and all-natural dyes.

Each piece is designed to be worn as part of this ongoing cycle, carrying the story of balance, change and renewal.
