POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

"Out there - all of it is a nightmare. But here it is a dream. "

I've been very fortunate to meet some rad artists through my escapades in music, and the enigmatic souls of @neopulps are no exception. The kind of people needed in any scene. The energy that is unabashedly their own, making no exceptions for their art. Authenticity is irreplaceable.

I'm beyond stoked to grace the pages of Issue #2. I can't help but feel most proud to be interwoven with absorbing stories and poetry of the dark surrounding features of the best creatures creating visions and noise.

I could write until there are no words left, so I'll keep it short(er). Neo-Pulps! are the undeniable future. If you haven't sewn yourself to the hem of the movement, now is the time to bend a spine 🖤 by @acityasleep

@acityasleep - porcelain emotional exorcism.

First of all - the thing that is so enchanting and challenging about Acityasleep is its diversity. In the EPs he has released so far, you can find classic post-punk sound, catchy darkwave beats, haunting industrial, delicate synth ballads, or echoes of 90s alternative rock.

But no matter what kind of sound he chooses to create, there is something dark-magical in his music. Listening to his music you may feel embraced by a fragile melancholy, have the feeling of being hidden under a blanket, but instead of warmth, you feel a chill. It's like being covered by rain, but you don't want to hide from it, because you enjoy the chill. You want to stay wet because you can feel more that way. There is a longing for something past, or an uncertain expectation of something unknown.

Melanie Ramos is the first born-and-bred Puerto Rican horror host, who performs under the persona of Melevill. Ramos made history by establishing herself as the first and only horror hostess native to Puerto Rico, filling a gap in a market that historically lacked local horror hosts. She blends vintage, grainy public-access television aesthetics with a millennial “Boricua” point of view. She hosts Melevill’s Hades Theater on YouTube, presenting classic B-movies, local lore, and cult Caribbean cinema in both English and Spanish. Unlike traditional hosts, Ramos frequently infuses her character with political activism, using her platform to speak out against environmental destruction and political corruption on the island of Borikén.

I'm consistently in a battle with myself asking for moments of calm, but thriving in chaos. I've found reaching a flow state in writing, and reaching into the subconscious creates that peaceful chaos without worrying or bothering others. I've been doing much better with taking care of my body and mind, but fuck that sure is boring 😉

My new EP is heavy, sad, beautiful. A shimmering haze of ambience, noise, and righteous grooves. If you hadn't had a moment to listen to it yet, give it a shot this week. I'd love for it to be loved 🖤

Spent many nights battling insomnia and smoking too many cigarettes on the front porch. Some of those moments I wrote lyrics for my newest EP. Inspiration is endless in the night, but I'm attempting to treat myself a little better now.
