The West of England Clean Power Pilot is the permanent & evolving legacy of the @massiveattackofficial world record low emissions show on Clifton Downs, Bristol in 2024. The clean power systems decarbonising all stages at @lorde & the @forwardsbristol festival on Clifton Downs this weekend are the 14th major music & film/television production the pilot has decarbonised this summer. #climateaction by @act1.5_

The emissions that create global warming & climate chaos come from the same sources that cause air pollution, with all of the recorded negative health issues that creates. Climate emissions & air pollution are 2 sides of the same toxic coin. Keep fossil fuels in the ground. @theellarobertafamilyfoundation by @act1.5_

The @westofenglandcombinedauthority Clean Power Pilot has removed the barrier between 2 of the regions most important creative sectors - major events & tv/film production - allowing both to utilise clean power. The film/tv productions have been facilitated via our partnership with the outstanding @thebottleyardstudios who are leading their sector in climate innovations. by @act1.5_

This weekend, as part of our Clean Power Pilot collaboration with @mayorhelengodwin @thebottleyardstudios & many others, the @lorde & @forwardsbristol main stages on Clifton Downs #bristol featuring @littlesimz @temsbaby @selfesteemselfesteem @mrgoldie will be powered entirely by Green Hydrogen systems provided by @geo_pura - the only emission being pure drinkable water. (All other stages & set ups will be powered by batteries). This technology will play a huge part in removing climate gases & reducing air pollution, & will play a major role in our pilot expansion(s) in live music & film/tv productions. #climate #climateaction by @act1.5_

#climateaction at scale requires bold political leadership. Our partnership with @mayorhelengodwin has already delivered significant removal of greenhouse gases & clean air conditions for those who spend up to 3 months working on festival sites or tv/film shoots, the hundreds of thousands of people who attend these events, & the communities who live nearby. But this Clean Power Pilot has also created a national leap - to achieve clean power at scale on a commercially viable model. More to come … by @act1.5_

Great to see @miatta_fahnbulleh_ @energygovuk recognise the brilliant work that is happening in the West of England and celebrate the efforts to sustainably power a dozen events and productions across our area this summer.

Around a year ago, a very high level figure within climate financing asked us ‘shouldn’t you change the name of the project? 1.5 is gone?’ … an attitude & approach that stunned us. The recent evidence from the @unclimatechange compels us to ACT NOW if we are to return to the Paris 1.5 imperative of a safe world. This is the danger of ‘talking 2.5’ - the structural ambition is compromised by vested interests. Ignore them. by @act1.5_

@forwardsbristol Festival showed us how big events can be powered more sustainably.

Clean energy batteries and hydrogen helped power the festival stages, using world leading technology.

I’m proud that through my Mayor’s Clean Energy Fund, we’ve supported a dozen creative events this summer to use clean power, bringing together our region's creativity and innovation. taken in Forwards Bristol by @act1.5_

The @thebottleyardstudios were already in an excellent place in climate terms, with solarised studios & sustainability programmes built into their operations. Now, hosting the Clean Power Pilot dedicated clean charging facilities & a fleet of batteries to serve any unit base or location shoot, they are sector leading. #climateaction by @act1.5_
