What a wonderful evening at Casa de Frida last night! 💃🕺❤️

We’ve definitely had every kind of weather challenge thrown at our events lately—from wildfires and smoky skies with poor air quality, to event cancellations, and now rain. Somehow, we just keep adapting and dancing through it all.

And honestly, we’re grateful for the much-needed rain. 🙏 It all worked out beautifully. We enjoyed a lovely dinner at Casa de Frida, then moved the lessons and demo indoors across the street to ACT Dance Studio before heading back to the restaurant for social dancing.

A huge thank-you to the owners Nathy and Luis for sharing your beautiful, authentic space with us, and to the entire staff for being so welcoming and accommodating. 🥰

Big shout-out to Anthony and Alex for returning and showcasing your talent once again. Anthony, I can’t thank you enough for your generosity, support, and everything you did to help make this event a success.🤩💕

Kelly, thank you so much for travelling all the way from Vernon to teach our beginner Bachata lesson. You were amazing, and we truly appreciate you sharing your time and energy with everyone.

To our wonderful volunteers, Mika and Kayla, thank you again for donating your time and taking care of attendance and check-in. We appreciate you both so much!

We’re also so grateful for our local dancers, the KSBK crew, Britta,Nathan, Bryan, Sara, Helen, Maria, George and everyone else who came out to dance, support, and bring such great energy to the night. It means a lot to us.

A big thank-you as well to the ACT Dance members for coming out and sharing this experience with us. You always bring such great energy and support you rock!

And a special thank-you to Dalil for travelling from Oliver to join us again. We truly appreciate your continued support.

A small portion of the ticket proceeds from this event will be donated to Foundry in support of youth mental health and wellness. 🌧️ Rain Update — Tonight’s Event Is Still On! 💃🕺We need the rain and it won’t stop the rhythm!🥰

Dinner will go ahead as planned at Casa de Frida at 6:30 PM. We have a room reserved and only 6 seated dinner spots left.

After dinner, we’ll walk right across the street to ACT Dance Studio / Sweat Studio for the lessons and demo at 7:35. Space is limited.

Then we’ll head back to Casa de Frida for social dancing at 8:50 pm. Hopefully the rain clears so we can dance outdoors, but if not, we’ll continue inside with limited space.

Join us for another Latin night out filled with delicious food, music, dancing, and great company in the heart of downtown!
It’s an evening all about learning to dance, connecting with others, and bringing the community together in a positive and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you dance regularly or you’re trying something new, everyone is welcome.

Event Schedule
6:30–7:30 PM — Dinner
7:30 PM — Beginner Bachata Lesson with Kelly
8:00 PM — Latin Ballroom Salsa Demo with Anthony & Alex
8:35 PM — Zumba Demo with Maya
8:45–11:00 PM — Social Dancing

No partner or dance experience needed. Come solo or bring a friend!🕺💃

What a wonderful Sunday night we had! 💃🕺❤️ Such a fun Dirty Dancing–themed evening!
A huge thank you to Anthony for hosting and putting together such a great night an evening of dance lessons at ACT Dance Studio, dinner, and a movie 🍿🎥. What a blast! 🤗
And of course, Don and I couldn’t resist getting all dressed up for the theme 🤣😂 We definitely had fun with it!

A special shout-out to Brian Udal from Summerland, who was supposed to join us this Friday for a Rumba demonstration. Unfortunately, due to the Bald Range Wildfire, Brian was evacuated.

Our wonderful supporter Renata Steele was also evacuated. We’re very grateful to know that both Brian and Renata are safe, and our thoughts remain with everyone affected by the wildfires. ❤️🙏

Brian brings 29 years of dance experience and has been a Certified Master Instructor since 2004, specializing in Swing, Latin, Country, Ballroom, Country 2-Step, and Club Style dances. He teaches beginner to intermediate and beyond, breaking patterns down into simple, easy-to-follow steps while incorporating proper technique and style.

Our Latin Night at Jac’s on the Beach has been postponed until further notice due to the ongoing wildfire situation.

Thank you all for your understanding. Please continue to stay safe out there. ❤️

Latin Vibes at the Peachland Waterfront
Dance by the lake with sunset Latin vibes!
Join us on Friday, July 31st from 7:00–10:00 PM for a beautiful summer evening of music, dancing, and community on the patio at Jac’s on the Beach in Peachland.
Come solo, bring a partner, or gather your friends — everyone is welcome! No dance experience needed, just bring your good vibes, comfortable dancing shoes, and get ready to move.

We’ll be kicking off the night at 7:00 PM with Mandy from Penticton, showcasing a fun Latin Salsa-style line dancing session to get everyone moving.
At 7:35 PM, Anthony will bring the energy with a Latin Ballroom demo featuring Cha Cha and Jive, followed by a quick and fun 5-minute Zumba demo with Maya.
After the demos, we’ll keep the night going with social dancing to a mix of Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Reggaeton, Latin Ballroom, Zumba vibes, and more!

A special thank you to our event sponsor, Renata Steele, an independent contractor realtor from Peachland, for supporting this community dance event.

We wanted to make a video as a shoutout to Maya Bennett @workitmamamaya who was introduced into the Latin dance scene in early April and has already made a significant impact on our community. She works day and night behind the scenes to make these events happen, putting in an incredible amount of effort that most people never see.
Through her outreach and dedication, she has been the one securing these incredible venues for events, including Grizzli Winery, Kelly O’Bryan’s, Lakesider Brewing, TownePlace Suites, Prestige 27 Lounge, and Truck 59. Most recently, she collaborated with @alex_ogeil and @actdancestudio to help make the Kelowna Yacht Club event come alive. We truly appreciate all of our Kelowna organizers, but just wanted to take a moment to recognize Maya Bennett specifically for everything she brings to this community! It is deeply appreciated and truly felt ❤️🩷💙 by @actdancestudio

What an amazing Latin Night by the Marina at the 📍Kelowna Yacht Club! 🕺💃🌅
We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful evening. The waterfront views were breathtaking, the sun was shining, and the gentle breeze had our hair flowing as we danced away. Sunset was magical. The energy on the dock was truly something special.

A heartfelt thank you to Anthony from ACT Dance Studio for helping organize this event and for bringing this waterfront dance experience to life. A special thank you as well to Anthony and Alex for showcasing a beautiful Latin Ballroom demo that added such a wonderful touch to the evening.

To Alex and her husband, Dwayne, thank you for securing this incredible venue for us. And to the Kelowna Yacht Club and your amazing staff, thank you for your warm hospitality and for the delicious Italian buffet dining experience.

A huge thank you to Bree and James from Kelowna Partner Dance for leading a fun and welcoming Bachata lesson, and to Deanna and Kayla for volunteering your time to make the check-in process run so smoothly.

To those who RSVP'd but weren't able to make it, we missed you! We hope everything is well and look forward to seeing you at our next event.

How perfect is this timing? This photo I screenshotted from an aerial reel on the City of Kelowna’s page, and the popular Kelowna signature sign is set up right in front of our venue for tomorrow’s event. Very cool! 📸✨
If you happen to take photos tomorrow, don’t forget to tag us and we’d love to see and share your memories!
Buffet Dinner: 5:00–6:00 PM
If you are joining us for dinner, please arrive early.
If you are opting out of dinner, you are welcome to come at 5:15 PM and head up to the Yacht Club restaurant above Cactus Club to enjoy a cold drink before the event.
Entry Fee: $15 cash at the door.
50% of ticket sales will be donated to KSBK to help support their Latin dance programs.
Dock Check-In: 6:15 PM sharp
Please be on time, as everyone needs to enter together. If you arrive late, there may be a delay in getting you in.
Important Reminders:
No alcohol on the dock.
