About last weekend! 💃🕺✨

We’re so grateful the weather was in our favor. The sun came out, the evening turned out beautifully, and Casa de Frida ended up being very busy that day! ☀️

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for dinner. We’re sorry for the delay in getting everyone served, and we truly appreciated your patience and understanding. We definitely enjoyed our dinner after the wonderful dance lessons!

Thank you to Nathy, Luis and the wonderful team for another amazing collaboration and for sharing your beautiful, authentic space with our community.

A very special thank you to Kristian and Anthony at @SWEATStudio for once again providing us with such a wonderful space for our lessons and performances. Your continued support means so much.

A huge shout-out as well to our incredible instructors, dancers, and artists:

Jane and Grizzli your Cuban dance performance was great. You guys rocked it!

Jackson and Paige your beautiful Kizomba demonstration was incredible!

Bree and James thank you for bringing everyone onto the dance floor with your amazing fun beginner Bachata lesson.

🎧 And ofcourse sweet @DJ Kawaii — Katie, for keeping the Latin vibes going all night long!

It is always such an honor to work alongside so many talented instructors, dancers, artists, and community partners. We truly appreciate everyone who donated their time and shared their talents with us.

We are also incredibly grateful for our Latin social dancers and the community for coming together, and to all the new faces who joined us and became part of the community. Seeing familiar friends alongside new dancers is what makes these nights so special.

And once again, a big thank you to our wonderful volunteers Mika and Kayla for giving your time and helping with check-in. Your help behind the scenes is always so appreciated! 😍🙏

Once we have finalized the total amount raised from our three recent events in support of Foundry and Canadian mental health, we’ll be sharing the final total in the next few days.

Thank you to everyone who came out, supported the event, and danced with us. 🔥❤

☝🏻 Dancers and spectators alike.

(❤️‍🔥 ACTing… with @actdancestudio)

✨ There’s a certain kind of magic - and therapy - that happens when two passionate dancers come together and create art, with movement and musicality. 💃🏻🕺🏻

And that goes for dance in ANY shape or form - solo or partner dance:

YOUR dance embodies YOUR soul, way beyond any steps.

It’s your personality.
Your feeling.
Your expression.

Claim it and make it yours. ✨

What a wonderful evening at Casa de Frida last night! 💃🕺❤️

We’ve definitely had every kind of weather challenge thrown at our events lately—from wildfires and smoky skies with poor air quality, to event cancellations, and now rain. Somehow, we just keep adapting and dancing through it all.

And honestly, we’re grateful for the much-needed rain. 🙏 It all worked out beautifully. We enjoyed a lovely dinner at Casa de Frida, then moved the lessons and demo indoors across the street to ACT Dance Studio before heading back to the restaurant for social dancing.

A huge thank-you to the owners Nathy and Luis for sharing your beautiful, authentic space with us, and to the entire staff for being so welcoming and accommodating. 🥰

Big shout-out to Anthony and Alex for returning and showcasing your talent once again. Anthony, I can’t thank you enough for your generosity, support, and everything you did to help make this event a success.🤩💕

Kelly, thank you so much for travelling all the way from Vernon to teach our beginner Bachata lesson. You were amazing, and we truly appreciate you sharing your time and energy with everyone.

To our wonderful volunteers, Mika and Kayla, thank you again for donating your time and taking care of attendance and check-in. We appreciate you both so much!

We’re also so grateful for our local dancers, the KSBK crew, Britta,Nathan, Bryan, Sara, Helen, Maria, George and everyone else who came out to dance, support, and bring such great energy to the night. It means a lot to us.

A big thank-you as well to the ACT Dance members for coming out and sharing this experience with us. You always bring such great energy and support you rock!

And a special thank-you to Dalil for travelling from Oliver to join us again. We truly appreciate your continued support.

A small portion of the ticket proceeds from this event will be donated to Foundry in support of youth mental health and wellness. Your attendance and participation help make these donations possible, and we’re so grateful to everyone who continues to come out, support our events, and help us give back to the community.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, danced, connec

As a solo dancer, it is fun to sometimes join forces with a pro dancer, and make it a powerful partner dance. ✨💃🏻🕺🏻✨

👉🏻 If you want to improve your ladies' styling for both, solo or partner dance, make sure to keep your eyes peeled for my "Ladies Latin Ballroom" Fall workshop in 📍Vernon & Kelowna.
📆 Each workshop consists of 2 Sundays, 2 hours each. 4 hours total.

✨ Thanks to @workitmamamaya for always organizing fun dance events in Kelowna, keeping the dance community growing, and letting new and familiar faces hone their skills or find their new passion with dance. 🫶🏻
