Last night, art and activism shared the stage as we honored the legacy of Harry Belafonte with our partners at @actionlabny. Thanks to @common, @anatijoux, @labrujanyc, @adioasis, @lemon.andersen, and @cali_torrez for bringing their music, vision, and activism to the Bandshell.

Thanks to @nycpublicadvocate Jumaane D. Williams, and all of the city and state elected officials for joining us and the @actionlab at #CelebrateBrooklyn for a truly magical evening ✨

The Action Lab was honored to be a small part of this documentary celebrating the powerful legacy of Harry Belafonte and the cultural and social justice work he helped pave the way for.

Directed by Susanne Rostock, the film offers an intimate look at the final 12 years of Mr. Belafonte’s life, his mentorship of a new generation, and his belief in our collective power to create change.

Featuring Belafonte fellows: @aloeblacc, @common, along with rosariodawson, @ijessewilliams, @iamjaimefoxx, @ajamonet, our comrades @msladyjustice1 @jasiri_x and @peacegina @philsomething, and our very own @rodrigostarz
