Activate Mental Health Has Won a $1,000 grant from @bulknutrients as part of their Bulk Gives Back initiative! 🎉

Bulk Gives Back is an initiative that supports 100 Australian charities with annual revenue under $100,000 by providing grants from Bulk Nutrients to help strengthen their community impact.

We’re putting every dollar straight into celebrating the heartbeat of our organisation: our volunteers. 💚🧡

This funding will help us run regular events to recognise, appreciate, and connect the incredible Activators who make our community possible.

From walking groups to board game nights to coffee catch‑ups, our volunteers show up with kindness, energy, and heart, and now we get to show up for them too.

A huge thank you to Bulk Nutrients for supporting grassroots community organisations like ours!

🎉 10 Years of Board Games Night! 🎉

On August 22nd, Activate Mental Health celebrated a whole decade of our monthly Board Games Night at the Victoria Park Community Centre! @vicparkcc 🥳💚

For 10 years, these nights have been a place for connection, laughter, and genuine friendship. We’ve watched people grow, open up, and build relationships that continue well beyond the games table.

What makes these nights special is the incredible mix of people who show up, all ages, genders, backgrounds, and personalities coming together to have fun in a safe, inclusive space. It’s rare, and it’s beautiful.

💬 Real impact, real stories
:
“Participating in the Board Games Nights has significantly decreased the social isolation I’ve experienced since retiring… my mood has improved, and suicidal ideation has decreased significantly.”

“As my wife passed away, it’s the only time I’ve met with people… For people like me, it’s the only outing you have in the month.”

Thanks to funding from the Town of Victoria Park @townofvicpark , these events are now free, and we were thrilled to have Mayor Karen Vernon join us for this milestone.

If this were the only achievement of Activate Mental Health, it would already be a meaningful legacy.

🧡 Thank you to everyone who has been part of this community. Here’s to the next decade of connection.

Last night, a small group of Activate Mental Health members experienced Lightscape at a subsidised rate, thanks to funding from the Rotary Club of Northbridge.

The club has given us sponsorship to make events hosted in Perth and Northbridge more accessible for our members.

We received this wonderful testimonial below:

“It was great attending this event! The organisers were very warm and welcoming. They made it comfortable for all attendees to interact with each other. I enjoyed meeting everyone at this event, and we all had great fun experiencing all the lights and music at the Perth Lightscape. Looking forward to attending the next social event hosted by Activate Mental Health!”

Thank you to the Rotary Club of Northbridge for allowing us to provide more safe, fun and welcoming settings to help our members improve their mental well-being.

If you’d like to sponsor our cause to help scale our impact, please email hello@activatemh.com.au.

National Volunteer Week 2026: Celebrating Our Awesome Activators! 🎉

It’s National Volunteer Week, which means it’s time to cheer loudly (and maybe throw some confetti) for the incredible humans who make this community what it is 🥳💚

Our volunteers are the magic behind every walk, every board game night, every coffee catch‑up, and every other “you’re not alone” moment. They bring kindness, energy, and heart. 😍

In the last 12 months, our Activators have delivered 368 events, producing $44,476.46 worth of volunteering work.

This year’s National Volunteer Week theme, “Something for Everyone”, couldn’t be more perfect. Our volunteers come from all walks of life, each bringing their own spark, and together they make Activate a place where everyone can feel at home. 🧡

To every volunteer over the past 10 years:

You’re brilliant. You’re generous. You’re the reason this community thrives. 🎈🎈🎈

Want to Join the Fun?

If you’ve ever thought, “Hmm… maybe I could help out too?”, the answer is YES, you absolutely can!

There are two awesome ways to support the community:

🎗️Become a Volunteer: Help run events, welcome newcomers, or bring your own ideas to life: https://www.activatemh.com.au/volunteer

💵 Make a Donation: Every contribution helps us keep events running and support our amazing volunteers. $20 helps cover the cost to run one Meetup event. :https://www.activatemh.com.au/donate

Thanks once again to our amazing team of Activators! 💚🧡💚🧡🧡

🌳 Hyde Park Walking Group

From last October until just yesterday, our Hyde Park Walking Group has been a wonderful partnership between Activate Mental Health and the Rotary Club of Northbridge, and what an impact it’s made.

Week after week, people came along to walk, chat, laugh, breathe, and feel connected. These mornings became a cherished routine of community care, made possible only because of our 8 fantastic volunteers who kept the walks going with warmth, consistency, and genuine compassion.

To our volunteer team: thank you for showing up, for holding space, and for creating an environment where everyone felt safe, welcomed, and recognised. You’ve truly made a difference.

And to everyone who joined us along the way, this isn’t goodbye.

🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️ There will be plenty more walks ahead.

💬 More conversations.
🤝 More connection.
😃 More community in motion.

Stay tuned, we’re just getting started. 💚🧡
