This year's Blokes & Bridges Walk was a reminder that meaningful connection can have a powerful impact on our wellbeing.

A huge thank you to @greg4hire for sharing such an honest and thought-provoking message. His reflections on mental health encouraged us to think about the small steps we can take to build healthier habits and stronger connections in our everyday lives.

Thank you also to @swanriverrc for hosting us, and to Heart Support Aus Perth Branch and @prostexercise for joining us on a very chilly Perth morning. Also @blackswanstc and @drift_saunas for the generous door prize donations.

Whether you walked, stayed for morning tea, or stopped to connect with someone new, thank you for being part of it!

Swipe through to see some of our favourite moments from the day 🩵

Christmas is a difficult time, this year more than ever in light of recent events. What is marketed as celebration and connection (…and let’s be frank, consumerism) can actually bring challenges, anxiety, fear, loneliness, hopelessness, discrimination and reminders of things we might rather forget.

Bah Humbug is developed by people who don’t love Christmas in the hope of creating a space where - despite the discomfort - we can lean on community, connection and the glimmers to make meaning of the year in a way that works for us, NOT in the way society tells us we should feel.

Come along to hear from our panel. Bag-Humbug is a space to reclaim some traditions and to step into a vision of Christmas not centred around unconditional joy and performative gratitude, but rather around creativity, rest and reflection.

Let’s reclaim the cringey carols and time-honoured traditions. Our Christmas, on our terms.

"Running makes me happy.”
Our On My Feet team reminds us that exercise isn’t just good for fitness — it’s proven to boost mood, reduce stress, and support better mental health.

Sharon, one of our inspiring On My Feet participants, reminds us how powerful exercise can be for mental health.

Running helps her stay calm, focused, and stress-free — especially during her master’s exams!

This Mental Health Week (4–11 Oct), we’re proving that movement heals — body and mind.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of facilitating an induction for 13 new volunteers joining @activatemh.

Held at @vicparkcc, the group jumped straight into a fun, hands-on workshop — playing UNO, tackling a quiz, and getting creative at the art table — just like the real AMH events they’ll soon support.

It’s always so rewarding and energising to see new “activators” step up, connect, and prepare to make a positive impact in our community. A big shout out to Mel, Caroline, Callum and of course Rahul for a great arvo!
