From new arrival to community leader.⚽️

Nandini arrived in Melbourne from India just 12 months ago. Like anyone new to a city, she was keen to meet people, get involved and find her feet!

She joined @walkingfootball4health.vic at Docklands and it wasn’t long before she was helping out at sessions, volunteering at community events and getting to know the people around her.

That involvement has now led to a new role. This week, Nandini took charge of her first session as a Walking Football Session Leader at Docklands.

She’s also recently completed the City of Melbourne Women’s Leadership Program, adding to her experience and confidence as she continues to get involved in the community.

For Nandini, walking football has become a great way to stay active, meet people and be part of something local. Now she’s helping create that same experience for others.

Women’s Only Walking Football:
📍 Docklands Sports Courts, Harbour Esplanade
📅 Tuesdays, 4–5pm

For a quarter century, Riverslide has been grinding away as the heart of our skate and action sports community – with 65,000 visitors in the past year alone!

🏉 KIDS FOOTY CLINIC at MARVEL 🏉

Marvel Stadium’s Kids’ Footy Clinic gives young footy fans the chance to experience the game like their heroes, in the middle of the Marvel Stadium arena. Participants will enjoy an action-packed afternoon of warm-ups, skills sessions, interactive games and mini matches on the same ground that hosts @afl and @aflwomens action.

They’ll also go behind the scenes on a Marvel Stadium 365 Tour, exploring exclusive player areas including the locker rooms, coaches’ briefing room and the chance to run out onto the ground via the player race.

Last week at Riverslide Skate Park, we had the privilege of welcoming 19-year-old Morgan for her very first skate session. 🛹💙

With the support of the Skate Frame and the superstar @riverslideskatepark team, Morgan was able to experience the excitement, freedom and confidence of skating alongside everyone else at the park.

The session was about more than just learning a new skill. It was about creating opportunities, building confidence and making sure everyone has the chance to be part of the action.

To top it all off, the other skaters joined Morgan for a group photo, showing that inclusion and community are what Riverslide is all about.

We're proud to help make skateboarding more accessible, one session at a time.

Yesterday, Melbourne Town Hall was lighting up blue to mark World Drowning Prevention Day, raising awareness of the importance of water safety for everyone, everywhere! 💙
