I enjoyed my residency @hugoburgefoundation so much, I felt held and supported for my month there. I assume this is what belonging to a collective or having a good gallery or patron would be like, the ability to breath into your work and take flight. So thank you to Hugo Burge and his wonderful magical vision and to the people who are enabling and living that. I managed to explore one of my collection ‘Crush’ (an expression of contained chaos) further. I created 3 pieces, the first piece I made changed as my time there progressed, the second piece became a held and supported work (probably influenced by artist Charlie Poulson’s work ‘sky boat’ that I saw outside my pod window everyday, being influenced by my surroundings I loved that it echoed how I was feeling, love his ‘tree’ in the Common Courtyard as well) the 3rd is of a thicker gauge of copper than I am used to using and is ..

Mum and dad had their first joint exhibition together in 30 years the other day ! ⭐️

Don’t know why it took that long …. But so proud of them getting their work out there and we met so many lovely people this weekend our hearts are full ! ❤️

We had such a lovely weekend showing our work to the good people of Leytonstone. Good conversations etc had by all (Pre opening clip of the space..with a couple of daughters thrown in)
It’s good to have places to show work and we’d like to do it again..DM if you have any ideas of exhib/ pop up spaces @adaesiukairo / @roadfactoryfilms

Some pieces coming with me to BAAM @bottlealleyartmarket this coming Sunday 20 September 10-6 pm. St Leonards, Hastings. A Fabulous historic walkway designed by Sidney Little in the 1930’s. Giving me space to show my work alongside an eclectic group of artists, thank you. I had a wonderful day on Sunday surrounded by fellow sculptors ..very exciting for me .. Lots of people I know and didn’t know came to say hello, it’s always a joy to meet new people and show my work.
Mobius is sold, but I’m working on a new mobius piece which will be similar but also unique because I’m not quite sure how the first one came to be as it is..I’ll follow my hammer again

I am very pleased to say I am one of the artists invited to take part in the inaugural show of MASS , a 3D Art and Sculpture event at the iconic De La Warr Pavilion on Sunday 16th August
I will have work in the auditorium
as part of ‘MASS Exposure’ indoor art fair where you can buy work, and two pieces on the pavilion terrace as part of ‘MASS gathering’ Terrace Sculpture Garden of free standing large scale works ( oh yes )There’s not much chance to show or see 3D and sculptural work so I’m really looking forward to it and hope you can come along to this day long celebration @delawarr pavilion

Adaesi Ukairo works as a sculptural artist in copper and brass.
Using hammers and forming stakes she moulds her metal into abstract, free flowing forms, creating distinct, highly textured and patinated pieces.
On graduating from a Silversmithing and Allied Crafts degree, she set up her workshop in London, exhibiting her work and collaborating on projects with architects, artists and designers. Since moving to Hastings, the ancient coastal terrain has had an influence on her recent sculptural work.
She was recently invited to Penland School of Craft in North Carolina to be part of a ‘Visiting Collective Cultivating a Network of Black Artists Working With Metal’ and most recently to the Scottish Borders at the Hugo Burge Foundation for a month’s residency in the metalsmithing workshop. I am off to RHS Wisley
( I know !) with my sculptural work at the end of this month.
I’ll be bringing this mobius piece with me, much inspired by the perpetual rhythmic cycle of nature.
I’ll be joining the Marchmont Silversmithing crew from the Hugo Burge Foundation in the ‘Festival of Silver’ space curated by Fenella Watson
30 April - 4 May 2026.

More from my special time @hugoburgefoundation part 3, I haven’t had a chance to work with wire for a long time, I find it a wonderful way to draw and express movement in 3D, I brought some brass rod with me to see what might transpire .. #experimenting #redmoon. #treeheaven #sunset
